SOURCE: my rowe ami cd100 plays but there is no bass only

Hi Tony,

More than likely it will be an amplifier problem, but check that the phono leads from the mechanism decoder are ok and that there are not any dry joints (cold joints in the USA) on the phono connections on the decoder.

Check that the amplifier does not have any dry joints on the connections between the input and output stages on the amplifier.

If you are in the USA and need a repair send your amplifier to Bruce Wentworth (check for his details on Google) in the uk you could send me your amp for repair.

SOURCE: surround sound

there are 2 channel modes on your reciever, as well as surround modes, and it sounds like you have changed modes by accident. just open the little door on the front, and take it out of 2 channel mode

I have a Rowe AMI 100 cd jukebox. The right side speaker will play for about 3 songs and then go out. Other speakers continue ti work. Is this a speaker problem or something else?

Make sure all the wiring is secure, you may have a bad coil on the speaker, then you need your amplifier checking by someone competent

I have a Rowe AMI 100 CD jukebox. It plays about 3 song and then right upper speaker goes out. Is this a speaker problem or something else?

You could have connector problems on the speaker crossover network located inside the amplifier compartment on the opposite wall from the amplifier. Typically the solder joints go bad where the connectors are soldered to the board. Usually a simple resoldering can fix it. There could also be problems with the connectors at that particular speaker itself.

Rowe r92 sound problem

Moving the wire indicates the speakers are OK. Try reversing the 3 pin plug from the cartridge. If the problem stays on the same channel, it is probably a preamp board issue. If the problem switches channels, you have a bad wire to the cartridge or a bad cartridge.

Can auxiliary speakers be added to a Rowe/AMI Model CD 100K? If so, where do they connect?

Hello,

Yes they can. Above the amplifier compartment you should see the output package. The output package is where the phono speakers are connected to but this can be used to provide output to extention speakers. E1 to E7 tappings left and right provide outputs at different voltages/wattage. E1 left and right is the comon (or ground connection) E2 is the lowest tapping and E7 is the highest. Most people would connect extention speakers to E3 or E4 left & right with the comon connections of the speakers to one of the E1's.
There is also connections for 70 volt line speakers, these are used where long cable runs are needed and the speakers are then fitted with 70 volt drop down transformers to the correct wattage of the speakers. These are available from most good electroic suppliers such as R.S. or Maplins etc.

I have an ami Rowe Model Laserstar CD100-F Jukebox that I purchased at a fundraiser. It works great but it has somehow switched from the mode where it plays without inserting $ to only playing when you put...

most all "early models: Rowe CD 100 Laserstar's
Put the slide switch in service position. Go past the errors (if any) by pressing Popular and Reset simultaneously then enter "55" the display should say "free play off" then hold down the reset key and push 9. This will toggle between "off" and "on" Toggle until the display indicates free play "on", then release the reset key and press the popular button. Put the service switch back in to the play position, The display should say "FP" however not all models display it exactly the same. If your computer's battery is good this setting will be retained. If you have to load the factory defaults for any reason OR another problem (dead battery) is causing the factory defaults to be loaded when you power on, this free play setting will be reset to "off" after power is interrupted.

My rowe ami cd100 plays but there is no bass only

Hi Easiest way to check if its the amp. Is to disconnect the internal speakers the connect a standard hifi speaker to it .If that plays fine its not your amp If it is your amp and your on a budget and the repair could be costly. Many times ive refitted a yamaha 250 watt hifi separate amp to just the cd out cable coming out of the cd player inside machines. Easy to do and only costs around £50 for a second hand one. Instead of £300 for the original. Worked for me many times and my customers have been very happy. Hope this helps.
