Hello Victor, for what you count, that you can not have color in the image of the channels, go through a setting in the menu
Correspond to the choice of color system, it should be in automatic
I sent you the link to download the user manual, on the third page, there are phone numbers to ask about the operation
I hope you have served my comment and that you can enjoy your TV in full color
Greetings Franco Dosil

SOURCE: black and white picture, then color, need to warm up?

If it is still under warranty, go out and take it to the repair shop now! this could turn out to be an expensive repair if ou have to pay for it. Your problem is the digital board with the tuner on it or the processor board for the signals, like the video and such. This could need the entire boards as most maunfacturers do not supply too many repair parts for these sets. Good Luck

SOURCE: Vizio with terrible color

YES. Take it back. Also take your DVD and cables also. Have the store try the tv with their DVD and cables and see if you get the same problems. It it good, then try your cables. Or try your DVD with their cable. It's under warranty now so resolved it now. If you bought by credit card, that may have a brief warranty also.

If the format of color system such as PAL/SECAM etc. is not same as that of telecast, you will get picture in black and white.

SOURCE: I have a vizio M3D550KD with no color, black &

I have the same problem, TV signal is black and white (menu has color). I take the HDMI cable out of the problem set and plug it in to a 22" portable, perfect picture, not the cable or the cable box, definitely the TV.

SOURCE: My samsung tv model UN29F4000, has sound but no picture, no menus come up. I'm not sure if it has a tconn board or not. What is the most common problem with a tv with these symptoms

The most of this TV problem is that the inverter transformer built on the main power supply is bad, to fix it, you may replace the transformer , or replace the power supply module.

Testimonial: "Hi, I replaced the power supply module and still sound but I did notice a very faint image on the screen in the dark can't make it out but something is there but any light shining on the screen and you won't notice it. Any other suggestions for this problem"

TV goes black and white more and more now. See details below.

Hi,

the accessories replacement was a smart move. Please attempt to run a channel scan before updating your tvs firmware. Otherwise, I would run a factory reset on the tv and watch for the display-color issue again.

Thank you.

I have a Vizio led tv M3D550KDE.Problem is it only has a black and white picture. The menu and apps have color.I changed the main and still the same.T-con? Thank You, Tom Alpena Electronics

Tom,
The TCON interfaces the LED/LCD screen with the main board. The color is controlled by the main board. I don't believe it is the TCON. Parts for that unit are getting hard to find.

No Picture -- just a black screen on my vizio vx37L

Did you hear any pops before the screen went black?
You've tried completely discharging it? Disconnect everything off the TV, all cables and power.
Press and hold the power button on the TV for at least 20 seconds.
Let it sit, and in about an hour, plug just the power in (directly to the wall) and see if it comes on. There should be an indicator light, is it white or orange now? Was it a different color before?
Odds are it's a board, be it the main or a video, don't know for sure. If you can take the back of the TV off and see if there are any evident signs of damage, blown or swollen capacitors, burnt traces or resistors/diodes, etc.

My componet/av only shows black and white on my vizio vp422

The 37" Vizio I just bought has a very confusing feature where the same input can be used as either the Y channel of the component or the full video channel for composite. If you plug a component source into the TV and then select the composite input ("AV" on the remote), you will see a black and white version of the full component signal (makes sense as the Y channel is just the luminance component). As sad as it is, I was stumped by this for a while until I happened to hit "COMP" and got full color. FWIW, the manual warns about this, but it really doesn't emphasize the point. I wonder how many returns they get because of this.

Full screen view

in order to get the full HD experience you should be using HDMI cables. if you're using the white/red/yellow cables then your HD channels will not broadcast in full HD and you'll be stuck with the annoying black things around your screen

Some channels have no color or sound

once a signal falls below a certain threshold the color will be lost.
some sets are more sensitive to this loss.
if you see static in the picture on any of the channels then the cable is leaking and needs replaced /tightened.
if a local air broadcast is leaking into a same cable channel on the cable you will get poor to no reception on that channel.
for example : he we have a local channel 7 on the air.
if i tune to cable 7 and see a weak or distorted pic then the cable is leaking and needs replaced.

HELP! MY 42" PLASMA TV IS ONLY GETTING BLACK AND WHITE CHANNELS.

If you are connected to a HD cale box using component cables IE (G, R & B) then check if either the Red or the Blue has come loose or unplugged as this will cause most HD sets to revert to a black and white picture.
