My Sansa Fuze Mp3 player locked me out

The mp3 players works, but the only way i can actually get into the device is to plug it into my computer, then disconnect it. But if i try to do anything the lock symbol pops up. If i try to mess with the control pad the lock shows up. However i chose to power it on by the switch, please unlock the HOLD switch to power on shows up even though the switch is not in that position. I tried to contact the company but they're no help at all.

SOURCE: Sansa MP3 Player will not turn on

I had the exact same problem it was after I ran a new firmware update, it flashed on and then turned off and would not turn on or recognize the computer. Solution: Since i didn't have a mini screwdriver to take the battery out, I held down the menu and power button for 15 seconds let go and it powered right up and works great.

SOURCE: How do you unlock a sansa m250 mp3 player

OK, I don't mean to be obvious, but on the bottom of the device (as you're looking at the screen), there's a switch that locks it. If you can see the red, it's locked -- if you slide it over, it unlocks. Again, you may have tried that, but since it says "Hold" and not "Lock" under the switch, it's not entirely obvious. Hope that helps?

I recently purchased a Sansa Clip MP3. I downloaded audiobooks to it but they will not play. What do I need to do?

Not true!!! The Sansa Clip is actually the best mp3 player I have found for listing to audiobooks. Here is what you need to do. Download the latest firmware update on the Sandisk website. You must do this or it just won't work unless you are downloading books from Audible.

I use the Overdrive Media Console and download mp3 and WMA books from my state library. When you hit transfer, be sure it hit advanced options. Browse until you select the audiobook folder on your player. Then transfer to that.

The player will bookmark your last place on anything that is in your audiobook folder. You can easily switch back and forth between your music and book without losing your place! Love it!

It even has a sleep timer on it. I'm in heaven.

My computer does not recognize Sansa Fuze

Hi there,

On your computer, Go to Windows Task Manager or Control Panel. Find the Device Manager. There should be a list called Plug-N-Play Devices.

Find the one that should have the driver details of your SanDisk Sansa Fuze Digital Media Player.
Right click on it and select Uninstall.

Now plug in your MP3 Player again to the computer. This time your computer should detect that your MP3 player is connected and will install the drivers for the MP3 player again.

Hope I was of assistance to you,

Cheers :)

My computer can't recognize my sansa fuze player... plz help me..

The Fuzeplayer must NOT be connected to the computer before you install the software.
If this has happpened, you will need to remove the Fuse driver in Device Manager. (Inst for XP)
Go to My Computer->Right click and select Properties. In properties, select hardware and Device Manager.
With Device Manager open, plug in the Sansa Fuse player. Find the new driver that popped in.
(You can do and undo this several times until you are certain you have the right one.)
Right click the fuze driver and select 'Remove'.
Close all windows you opened.
Unplug the fuze player and do not connect it until the driver is reinstalled with the driver disk. When the software asks, plug it back in.
That should solve it.
Unsure? ask a knowledgable friend to help.

The screen is frozen and I cannot play music and i cannot find the reset button

If your Sansa Fuze MP3 player becomes frozen or unresponsive, you may need to reset the unit.
To do so, simply slide and hold the Power button on the side of the unit. Hold it for about 10 seconds and the player should reset.
If this does not work, I recommend plugging the device into a computer, or charger.

My computer does not detect my mp3 player sansa 4.0 gb

What i would recommend you to do is to uninstall the device and reinstall it back...to uninstall it...assuming that you are running windows xp...click on start, right click on my computer and go to properties..you should have your system properties open then click under hardware then device manager...look for the sansa device..it usually located under portable device..if its not showing there i would recommend you to look for under disk drives and see if its there..right click on the device and click on uninstall...after you unintall it unplug your device from the computer....Then follow this link below to download the porting kit...http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A2E73160-E862-4F19-BB26-C0CAFE798955&displaylang=en .Then check the mode of yuor device to make sure it sunder MTP not msc...To check the mode go under menu, settings and choose usb mode...After you check the mode open up your windows media player click on tools, options and click under privacy...clear the history and caches...after you finish you can plug the device on the back of the computer not the front then windows should recongnize it and it should work properly..if that doesnt solve the problems upgrade your windows media player to 11 even though you have done that already..and try to reconnect your device..make sure you have it connected on the back USB>>>

And if that doesnt work try to obtain the driver for your sandisk device go to http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/index.asp and find the driver for your device..and then connecct the device on the back of your computer...it should work properly..if you are still having any problems..let me know..i would be more than happy to assist you..

"Not enough space for music DB. Please free 90MB"

What has happened is that when you connected the device to the computer if automatically downloaded everything on your media files thus filling up your MP3 player
You need to go in and delete the files you do not want. click the bottom part of the disk or dial and it will show a menu to delete FIRST,
you must let the battery run down(disconnect the cable and when the battery has discharged, you can plug it back in to recharge, then you can work with it to delete some of those files that are overloading you device This happened to me and this was the only way to unlock it when it locked up
