SOURCE: Mower will not stop when clutch is depressed

When you replaced the belt you either got a shorter belt or you have rerouted the belt wrong. You might try and get an original; belt and replace the one on the tractor. Good Luck-David

SOURCE: engine dies when clutch brake released on husqvarna gth2548

First check the seat switch, make sure it is plugged in tightly, these plugs have a safety tab built into them that will cut the engine off if you unhook it,sometimes the plug latch pulls out slightly and this will cut the engine, There are two other switches in the system one on the foot clutch and on on the mower clutch, if you follow the white wire from you ignition switch it will lead you to both of them, check those connections also.

SOURCE: How do you remove the electric clutch from a

Remove the primary belt and mowing deck to give yourself some room to work.
Locate the wires from the clutch and follow them toward the frame until you find the plug and unplug it.
Remove the bolt and washer from the center of the clutch going up into the engine crankshaft and slide it off the shaft. It is quite heavy so be careful when it comes free.

Sounds like the safety switch in the seat is bad or disconnected. Look under seat to see if anything is unplugged.

How to make mower stop when clutch/brake pedal depressed

Depending on the model and manufacturer of your mower, but it seems like the brakes are the problem.
I have a Murry and it has one disk brake on the rear wheel shaft. The master mechanism for this disk brake needed to be cleaned of dirt and grass clippings. In my case, this helped but brakes only 50% effecient so I use reverse when on an incline.

Parking brake does not seem to hold on moderate incline. Footbrake will sometimes not stop the machine. Are there any known issues with braking on X320

Most all mowers and tractors have mechanical brake rid adjusters..just follow the linkage from the pedal to the brake rigging...you should find some adjusting in the linkage...good luck..

Husqvarna 61 inch zero turn model ZTH6125 Engine cuts out.

Sounds like the safety switch may have stuck. Allowing it to set, the switch "released". Just my guess.

Husqvarna Riding Lawn Mower 46 Cut model #454140010G MOWER will not ingadge

I can not say this enough, check the safety switches. There should be one on the seat, the clutch /brake pedal and /or the equipment pto switch. Also, check the wires running to these switches. They tend to move and vibrate as you mow and a worn spot in the wires can cause a short, resulting in the mower not starting.

Good Luck!!!

I have a Husquvarna riding mower. When I start the engine it blows the 20 amp fuse. After replacing the fuse, the motor turned and blew the fuse again. Any ideas?

Do a couple of good bounces on the seat, check the clutch brake pedal switch for clicks and then look at the PTO clutch. More ofthen than not the wires around the PTO clutch get damaged by the belt and short to the chassis. If this does not help you identify the problem... you will have to use a meter with the key on and the POSITIVE terminal disconnected from the battery (isolated) seatching for chassis grounds. You will need a new fuse installed while troubleshooting. When a ground is found with the key ON.... check to see if you have that same ground on the alternator terminal of the key switch. Usually terminal A or A1.

Check out this diagram.. it is typical of all riding mowers... http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/1006648P-00012.png

Mostly the top part of the schematic for safety switches and the starter Jumper white to white on the PTO clutch wires and see if it will turn over. Result = No check to make sure the clutch / brake pedal switch is being made when you depress the brake. Next install the Seat switch jumpers black to black and gray to gray for TESTING only and attempt a start. Last... use a longer jumper and connect White wire of PTO to the solenoid small ( + ) terminal and try a start. If it starts here the clutch / brake switch is bad. You can do this.. it is not hard. Just a matter of sorting out which switch is not working. Something to try before installing jumpers... Bounce on the seat pretty hard several times and cycle the clutch / brake pedal through full stroke. I.e fully depressed and then pull it all the way to the top for 5 or 6 cycles. Then attempt start. Concerning Husqvarna LR120 lawn tractor. Gears will not engae.

Recheck your installation. It sounds like you perhaps got the belt on the wrong side of one or more belt guides. If you need an owners manual, post your full model and serial number and I will see if I can locate one for you
