Try to reboot the machine. The damage might already be done. Turn machine off, remove usb. Turn back on. Was the design the proper format?

SOURCE: Downloading embroidary designs for the Janome MC 350E

Firstly, format your compact flash card on your embroidery machine. This is presuming you have embroidery files in your jef format your machine reads on your computer. Place your compact flash in the compact flash card reader writer connected to your computer, open the compact flash card in your computer, open the file emb5. Now you can simply copy and paste a design from your computer to your flash card. It works for me. Goodluck.

SOURCE: Cannot get Janome 10001 to read via USB direct link from computer

I was having the exact same problem and just a minute ago was able to fix this. If you have the original installation cd for customizer 10000 plus when you first connect your usb cable from the machine to your xp machine choose the option to install the new hardware yourself. Then point to the cd rom drive and the drivers folder, win 2000 and the file inside of that will be the driver file. As soon as you install from this file it will be successful and you will be able to see all your Janome 10001 machine files on your computer when you work with customizer 10000 plus software. Let me know how it goes.

When my janome 350e did this I had to take it in to be calibrated and one month later it did it again and I had to take it back it has not given me any problems since but it would be nice to know how to do this myself it only took 5 minutes for this and takes me 3 hours there and 3 hours back. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: My carriage on my Janome 350E is jammed and is not

See if the embroidery arm is bent, that will jam the unit as it trys to move. If is bent you may be able to straighten my bending it gently. The arms get bent by tilting the machine to the back while the arm is exrended.

Janome 350E suddenly stopped reading the USB stick. As soon as I select My Design it shuts down and restarts over and over again. What could be wrong?

Your space is not formatted correctly to the size of the hoop. For example if the hoop is 5x7 your design has to fit within that space, and the space cannot be bigger than 5x7. Strange but true and it will fix the reboot and shut down issue.
