If you mean track tension. On most if not all dozers there is a plate with 3 to 4 bolts on main frame between top and bottom of track. Take off plate and adjust by finding grease nipple and pumping in grease. Track will expand.

My Allis Chalmers D12 is popping on the #4 Cylinder. New wires ,points, Comp is good.Runs better without #4 hooked up HELP

Could be one of the valves are out of adjustment or one is not seating right or burnt thru in the seat area. Thin valves and or carbon deposits in the chamber can do this. Also could be fuel delivery to much air getting into the manifold in this area.

What is the correct way to hook up the starter cellinoid on a Allis Chalmer D17 series 4?

Well first make sure that the routing coil is clean of debris and dirt. Then you are going to want to oil both sides before assembly. The cellinoid connects the same way an oscillating pendullum does. Just with a bolt! Easy as that on both ends....just be sure to adjust pressure from valve so you don't create a dangerous situation from pressure build up!!........Happy trails!

Cant seem to get my Belt tencheners to move?

Sir,
If you look at the tensioner pulley, there is a stud on which the pulley rides, and then a large washer and a nut (which holds it on). The nut must be loosened just a bit (not so loose as to allow alot of play in the mounting) but just loose enough to allow movement - then you can turn the adjustment bolt Clockwise(CW) tighten - or Counter-CW to loosen - but leave it just a bit shy of tight, then as you tighten the nut, the pulley will straighten and tighten a bit more. I hope this is what you are referring to. Hope it helps! DD

You have a Bad Tensioner. Replace it and it will tighten.
