o connect a Kenwood VR-405 to a PS4, you will need to use the audio and video outputs on the PS4 and the audio and video inputs on the Kenwood VR-405. Here are the general steps to follow:
Connect the HDMI cable from the PS4 HDMI Out port to the HDMI In port on the Kenwood VR-405.
Connect the audio cable from the PS4 Digital Out (optical) port to the Optical In port on the Kenwood VR-405.
Turn on the Kenwood VR-405 and set the input to HDMI or Optical, depending on which cable you used.
Turn on the PS4 and adjust the audio settings on the PS4 to output audio through the HDMI or Optical connection.
Adjust the audio settings on the Kenwood VR-405 to match the audio settings on the PS4.
It is important to consult the user manual of both the Kenwood VR-405 and the PS4 for specific instructions on how to connect them and adjust the settings. If the VR-405 doesn't have a HDMI input, you can use an HDMI to composite adapter to connect the PS4 and the VR-405.
PS4 does not provide backward compatibility for legacy or prior consoles. PS4 plays only PS4 discs. The only PS2 games you can play on a PS4 are the ones from the PSN store which are available via download. Hope that assists your inquiry.

First, from your computer click the Download Link
to download the latest PS4 Update. Make sure you don't rename the downloaded file.
After download, plug your USB onto you Computer. Open the USB and make a folder inside named PS4 (you need to use Uppercase letters). Inside that folder create another folder named UPDATE. Then, just take the PS4UPDATE.PUP file you downloaded from the provided link and put it inside the UPDATE folder.
After that you just connect your USB with your PS4, and then from the Main Screen of your PS4 go to Settings -> System Software Update and just follow the instructions on-screen.
PS: Make sure you DO NOT turn off the console or remove the USB from the PS4 while the update is taking place, otherwise the system may be come temporarily or permanently damaged.
The PS4 will allow you to use an external drive to store data other than games. If you put a game on an external drive, it wont work. The drive in the unit is 500Gb
