Deck dont go up and down - Garden

you have to jack the mower up lower deck disconnect switch push the sides of the switch and pull down and out it can be a bear if u dont remove deck,

Make sure your top no load rpms are at spec. Check lifts on blades to see if they are wearing down. And dont cut too much at one time.

be sure the blades are not bent and you dont feel any wiggle when pushing them up and down. be sure nothing is wrapped around the spindles. be sure the belt isnt damaged and tight when the deck is engaged to cut with the engine off.

It will initially bog down when engaging, but should pick back up shortly after. If it is staying bogged down, turn mower off and check inside (under) the deck to make sure its not clogged up with grass clippings or dirt. if it is, clean it with either a hose or a scraper. Also make sure the deck is raised when you engage (dont engage with deck lowered on long grass).

primary belt goes from the engine to the deck the secondary goes on the deck and connects the blades together

The button not staying down may mean a key is broken so we need to know the model number to be able to determine if a part is available.
I still have some keys for the Teac CX series.

there are threaded anchors that hang down on each side of the deck just uder the foot boards; if u run the nut on them up/down it will raise/lower it. Be sure to do this on a level floor to ensure u dont raise one side higher than the other causing it to cut crooked.

There is a pin that has come out of it's holf from the right side of the deck. Have someone raise the deck up and down and you should see a bracket or rod moving up and down. This attaches to the deck with a clevis pin to hold it in place.

first off i must say this feature is put here by the companies for a reason they dont want to pay millions to the families of people hurt and so the blame gets bumped down to you. so be carefull so you dont have to spend the rest of your life paying for the damage.

when you install the deck you need to get the (pink) wire grounded. this is usually the color of the parking break check on the deck. it is looking for a ground coming from the parking break. usually this can just be bypassed by tieing into the ground on the deck.
