Model ew 301 S65 jsd. The control panel blinks. Why doesn't it do anything else?

No beeping. Unresponsive to anything. All the lights from the center to the right side just blink/flicker every 5 seconds or so.

If you have had a lightning storm or power surge it may have fried the electronics panel. That is what happened to mine. Once it is fixed you should put a surge suppressor on it that is rated for major appliances.

SOURCE: blinking lights on control panel

Same issue, machine is about 30 days past waranty. Door switch broke, but of course they (GE repair) do not fix the switch, you have to order the Escutcheon Body (whole panel) to fix ~$350 total.

Flashing lights and or beep sounds can mean the dishwasher problem was from a power surge or power outage. You can unplug the dishwasher from power or shut off the breaker to the dishwasher for 1 minute. This may reset the dishwasher and get it back to working order.

I would replace parts. It still is cheaper than a new unit. So get the new control panel and do it yourself and save money. The average life of a dyer is dependant only on when the owner gives up. I just serviced on last week that was 25 years old.

Dishwasher control panel unresponsive

OK I am not an expert but I have spent the last two weeks learning about and fixing my dishwasher! Hopefully I can save you a headache. Try the following:

* Flip the switch off and on in your breaker/circuit box for 10-15 minutes. May reset your washer.
* If that doesn't work, try running diagnostic/reset cycles by pressing heated dry -normal- heated dry or heated dry-sanitize-heated dry in sequence. If the cycles run fine, you will rule out a power, latch, motor/drying issue. It also may (hopefully) reset your system.
* If normal function still does not resume after that, make sure your power (from the breaker box) is turned off and unscrew (with a star-shaped screwdriver bit - check your car emergency kit or toolbox, you may find you have it) and open the front button control panel and check all connections. Try carefully unplugging and replugging wires and look for any corrosion/moisture on the circuit board.
* If everything looks good but that does not work, test the circuit board by unplugging the green ribbon cable from the control panel, reassembling with the ribbon cable unplugged, flipping your circuit back on and then closing the dishwasher door. If the drain motor runs, it will show you that there is still some function with the circuit board. Although it doesn't rule out the circuit board completely, it will point to a most likely control (button) panel issue and try replacing that. If the drain test does NOT run, it may be the circuit board that needs to be replaced.

There may be some additional instructions specific to your model hidden in an envelope behind the kickplate of your washer.

Hopefully some of that helps!

I can't get the control panel to reset. The wash cycle light comes on but it just beeps and the dishwasher won't start. I press the start button and it stops beeping for a minute but it still...

II might need the actual model number. However, you can go to page 9 on this manual and check if the flashing options can fix the problem. I am assuming you have already tried to turn the power off and back on.

The ohter thing to try is the reset sequence. Within 6-7 secs press High Temp/ Heat Dry/ High Temp/ Heat Dry/ High Temp/ Heat Dry. All lights should light up, press Start button to exit.

Hello,

Your Back light inverter power board has died. The beeping and blinking are caused by the power board repeatedly trying to start up and failing. This is a common failure point of LCD monitors2.gif after a few years of use. The heat build up in the monitor case causes parts called capacitors to blow leading to the power supply short. If you can solder you should be able to do the repair. Go to our web site at:
www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm We have pictures of what to look for. Now take the back off of your monitor and replace all of the caps that look like the pictures and you should be back going again. Be sure to use high temp parts, they will be marked 105c. The values you will need to get will be marked on the sides of the bad ones such as 220uf, 470uf or 1000uf. When you insert the new ones be sure to put the polarity stripe going the same direction as the old one comes out. If you have any questions just let me know. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service for $30 + return shipping2.gif.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Blinking lights, unresponsive

I went to the Maytag site looking for a manual. None existed for my model, but I looked up won't start under the FAQs. The advice said to push the cancel button twice. My model doesn't have one, so I just started at the left side of the control panel and pushed each button twice. pushing the dry button twice made the lights stop blinking. i pushed the wash button and the unit started.

Display doesn't turn on, emits short beeps and blinks lights

Sounds like a low power problem, Check the power supply with a good ohm meter set to DC voltage if voltage is less than 14 v. Replace the supply. DWW
