Hello, I have Sharp Aquos LC-50UB30U, I don't have pictures but do have sound. can see lights from the back of my TV (through back cover) and can see menu page while I dim all lights of my room. i have 4 PARTS : 1) Sharp 0500-0605-0840 Power Supply / LED Board 2) Sharp 3650-0252-0150 Main Board for LC-50UB30U 3) Sharp/Vizio 0981-0250-7706 (55.50T28.C03) T-Con Board 4) Sharp IC-A-VZAA50D552 LED Backlight Strips (8) LC-50UB30U what component is having issue ?

Hi.
I do not think that a firmware or software update (if available) will make any difference. If the backlight starts and turns off, then it is either inverter, PSU or circuit controlling inverter (located on main controller board). The fact that you replaced the boards does not necessarily mean that everything is OK with newly replaced boards. I repair LCD TVs and I can tell you that the board swapping method is not effective or good with this kind of electronic. This is not a PC, if you replace all boards without testing, then you may get in more troubles than when you had the initial problem.
The T-con board is regulating the timing of signal to LCD. The T-Con board symptoms are in effect no picture and sound still going, but often the backlight does not go completely off, you usually get a faint flickering backlight. Before replacing the T-con, testing should be done reading voltage in the DC line that goes from PSU to inverter. If there is no DC voltage, then the problem is not the TCon. If there is DC voltage in to the inverter, but no high voltage out from the inverter, then the inverter is usually shot. For safety reasons testing with live power should be done by a trained person.
The other way to proceed is swapping TCon board. In this way there is also the chance that LCD panel failed, that is usually beyond repair.
Regards.
Ginko.

You will get a white screen when you unplug the t-con from the main board. Doing so removes power to the LCD panel. Verify that all of your voltages from the power supply are correct. If they are, I'd look at the t-con board. It sounds like there is a problem with the t-con that is pulling down the main board.

check if their is a signal on voltages around 3.3v at the inverter board if none their is a problem in the board which is in the processor.
Im having similar problem and with my limited knowledge of lcd tvs and the voltages ALL being good except the pwr on or sw on voltage from the main board to the power supply which tells it to switch everything on Im guessing that something is going wrong on the main board. In the condition where it freezes it (the power on V) which switches everything on i get varied voltages such as 2.5 or 3 or (the normal 5v) and then when nothing powers up (blank screen) i read 0v on pwr on voltage but all my other voltages are corect (24v to inverter, 12 v to main board, 5v, etc.) Im guessing from researching this is that there is in improper voltage somewhere in the main board circuit. I have been unable to find it so i may order another board and post back.
