Just took the unit apart recently haven't tested the heat sinks and I don't see any error codes. None of the video inputs work but I do get sound from the RF input audio. I have not connected anything to the RF video input for actual video but will try. Right now I'm guessing it is the main input video board but the part nunber on the board does not match that of the parts distributor.

All I can say is when you watch T.V. the plasmas run off of plasma gas and when you leave something on for so long it burns in the screen. I have the same T.V. and when watching like the weather channel it leaves lines but they go away. If yours are permanent then you can't do anything, but it may help if you go on your remote and go to "menu" then look for "setup" and scroll down with the arrows on your remote. Look for "screen burn protection" and select "white screen". This will make your whole screen white and it may take out the lines. If you let it sit white it won't hurt it. All one color won't hurt, the only thing that hurts is like bright white lines in front of a dark background. Just give your T.V. a break from time to time ESPECIALLY ON VIDEO GAMES. T.V. shows that are HD usually have their channel icons that move or are very dim and they won't hurt. Just go to what I told you and let it sit about 20 minutes, if that doesn't help, then the T.V. you have i believe comes with a 2-year standard warranty and if it's under warranty take it back if you have the reciept. If no reciept then call 1-800-SAMSUNG.

It's a pretty common problem. The no picture but sound problem is usually the y board. I've replaced 2 on mine now. The 680uf 35V capacitors usually are bulging because one of the power transistors went and took them out. This has happened to both of the y boards I had. One time the failing y board took out the buffer boards too, and once it did not. The fix is super simple and anyone with even the most rudimentary knowledge of computers or electronics can do the labor yourself. You should do the simple stuff first by just doing a quick test with a multimeter. Just check the power coming to the y board. After that you can just remove the y board by removing 3 cables and like 3 screws. Plug in the new board and it's done! You can source the parts from a place like shopjimmy or discount merchant. 3 boards were like 200 bucks. 1 board is like 100 bucks. Labor took me 15min. Think about that the next time an electronics repair place charges you 1000 dollars. Of course they check everything (Yeah right) and warranty their work (I don't) but if you check the service manual it states that this is the most common repair. Look for the Canadian manual online. i have phoned bose the tv sensor will not work with led tvs becouse they do not transmitt enough power for the sensor to pick it up
