Try pulling out maximum distance and then lift up at the front and then slide toward you.

SOURCE: CAN NOT REMOVE THE END

The end caps on the upper rack of my GE dishwasher do not pull off, they "rotate" off by turning the top of the cap toward the center of the dishwasher. In order to make this rotation, you need to slip a small screwdriver in the track to the inside of the nipple at the top of the back of the end cap and force the nipple toward the middle of the dishwasher.

SOURCE: How to disassemble Maytag Washer MTW5740TQ0

Your console has a retaining clip under the front corner on each side. You simply insert a putty knife under the console at the corner and push straight back, while pushing the console back with your other hand. The clip will release and the console will pop up. You can use the following link for reference (step 2 b.):

http://www.fixya.com/support/r599953-replacing_drive_motor_kenmore_or

Your washer has the Maytag name, but is manufactured by Whirlpool and has Whirlpool parts, so these steps are for your washer. The link I provided explains how to access and remove the drive motor. If you are having problems with agitation and spin, you may have bad motor coupling. The next explains how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385252-replacing_motor_coupling_whirlpool_top

The steps are almost identical and the part number (if needed) is included.

You can view an excellent exploded view diagram of your washer at appliancepartspros.com. Section 4 shoes the console and retaining clips (item 3) that I'm talking about.

If your washer fills, then stops, or agitates then stops just before the rinse cycle, this problem is attributed to a lid switch malfunction.

I'm adding all these remarks, because you never stated what symptoms you were experiencing. If you have questions, please let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

How do I repair the upper rack slide on a Whirlpool W10431033A dishwasher.

If it's like my Maytag there appears to be a plastic bump or catch on the outside edge of the slider. A very hard push on the catch should allow you to get the cap out of the end of the slider.

Remove upper rack

When you pull the upper rack forward, the two metal glides on each side move forward. On the end of each glide is a white plastic end cap. If you look through the rack to the inside of each glide, you can see that the upper part of the end cap has a upper tab. I put my thumb on the end cap then press the upper tab forward with my index finger. Then press upward with your thumb and the end cap should slide totally upward and then out of the glide. Once both end caps are removed, the upper rack slides fully out of the washer.

I can't put back the top dishwasher rack. The railing does not seem to hold it, even though there is no damage in the railing. The top rack could not be held by the rollers

There should be plastic stops at either end of the rail that prevent the rollers of the rack from coming out of either end.

How do you remove the caps from the upper rack glides? I'm replacing the rollers that attach to the upper rack because one is broke.

Caps on the front ends of the glides can be pulled out. Sometimes they are hinged at the top and have a tab at the bottom to pull out. With the caps out or open you can roll the upper rack out of the glides.

Trying to replace broken upper rack adjustment arm . . .

first off check to see if there is an endcap either the front or back of the track. if so remove the cap. check for end mount screws. if no screws the endcap opens up the route for popping the plastic cover off and exposing the screws.. see diagram(may not be exact model but it gives you an idea)

Dryer rack installation

I had the same problem: they sent me the rack, but no instructions.
But if you look in the product manual for your dryer, there should be a section on how to use the rack. For the Cabrio, which is what I have, it's on page 21.
If you don't have the manual anymore, you can get them online at Whirlpool's web site. Just plug in your model number in the search box, and there it will be.
