Knowing the importance of this specific case I would highly recommend calling the factory and having the read the chip (s) and retrieve the data aside from that there's no other way for a consumer to retrieve lost greetings unless you might have had it pre-recorded somewheres just in case he wasnt there and you needed to reset up your answering machine.
