look on the TV menu for (system) in south africa we use PAL, if you cant change it on the TV, with the decoder remote press menu then 7 then 4, it will ask for a pin code press 9-9-4-9 it will read "RF modulator" press OK, it will then read 1 MODULATION press ok again and it will highlight PAL I now press the right key and press OK, if this persists then the decoder it probably faulty... good luck

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output.
