turn unit off at the breaker and leave off for 10 mins before turning back on,  if this does not reset the unit, then your control board is probably bad or the heating element could be going bad.  call a repair man for service

I have this model, but not this problem (my impeller motor seems to have burned out). Anyway, try pressing Hi Temp Scrub, Air Dry, Sani Rinse, Air Dry, in that order and see what happens. Mine appears to reset and run through a set of warm-up tests.

SOURCE: Clean light flashing 7 times. Can't start the machine

The cleam light blinking means that the unit was not able to reach a proper heated wash cycle. Either your heating element failed orthe actual sump/pump motor system has failed. Check the element in the botton and see if it looks broken anywhere. If you can see a broken spot, you will k now that is the trouble.

Good Luck!

Hi canchild,
By your description this sounds as though the machine control board has failed. But you should test it first.
Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and pick up a non-contact voltage tester, like this one. It's a tool that you'll use more often than you think for this project and others around the home,

WARNING---> THESE TESTS REQUIRE YOU TO HAVE POWER ON! AVOID ANY EXPOSED WIRING OR ELECTRICAL TERMINALS THROUGHOUT THE TEST PHASE!!!

Now remove the 4 screws holding the kick panel to access the lower section of your dishwasher. Set the dishwasher to run a normal load and start it.
The sequence is the washer will send power to the water valve first, test this with your new tool... it should light up if the tub is empty. If it's already full, power will not be applied to the valve. When the tub is full, the board will send power to the main wash motor in about 1-2 minutes. Use your Voltstick on the main motor harness. If the board is good, your stick will light up.
Now hit "Cancel"... this should activate the drain pump (it's on the right, connected to the pump sump and has 2 wires feeding it). Again, test with the Voltstick.

NOTE---> Your Voltstick may give you false positives... avoid this by singling out individual wires to test. DON'T TEST "WIRE BUNDLES".

These tests will confirm whether or not the board is sending power to the components in question. If you have power? The components have failed OR the wiring to the components have become loose, broken or disconnected.
If you aren't getting power to the components, your board has failed and will need a replacement. The part number for it is 9743448 and lists for about $160.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: I have a Kenmore Elite ULTRA WASH Dishwasher

Hi

This issue appears due to stuck keys on control keypad or due to moisture/shorted connections on the keypad. Sometimes this appears when the door is not closed or door lock switch is failing. Turn off the power to dishwasher, unplug the power cable from outlet or shut off the breaker. Use a multimeter and make sure that the connection to door switch assembly are fine, also check the continuity of the door swiches (when closed). If continuity is present you would need to check the connections to the keypad. Try disconnecting the P1 connector(connects keypad to control board) and then reconnecting it, check if the problem is still present. Replace the keypad if the problem still appears. Please check the below pictures, they might help you--

Link 2 (Keypad)

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Did you check behind the toe-kick panel for the tech data sheet? Assuming that you have checked and that it is missing, there here is the "secret keystrokes" that will make most Whirlpool/ KitchenAid/Kenmore/Maytag diswashers enter the diagnostic cycle:
Heated Dry - Normal - Heated Dry - Normal; or
High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry; or
Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry; or
High Temp Wash, Heated Dry, High Temp Wash, Heated Dry.

Note: On some of the newer Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid dishwashers, you start the diagnostic cycle by rapidly pressing the 3 left-most keys in the following sequence: 1 2 3, 1 2 3, 1 2 3.

My KUDS011JBSO undercounter dishwasher is blinking the normal wash light. What do I need to look for to fix this?

Hi

If light is blinking then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or the thermal fuse, please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry or High Temp Wash-Heated Dry-High Temp Wash-Heated Dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the thermal fuse located on the control or the door switch that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Hi

If clean light is blinking then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump, please reset the power to the dishwasher. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.
