SOURCE: Heat mode on trouble

Possibly changeover valve not functioning correctly causing high head pressure and  safety to switch off in protection mode.not the ideal DIY repair.

SOURCE: split system outside unit won't come on for cooling, only heating

Check your filters, dog hair and lack of maintenance will definitely burden the cooling mode of the Mr Slim units.

SOURCE: Not heating

I'm a Certified HVAC Technician and have been working in the industry since 1996. I totally agree with Rob. But, I'm a bit confused in that I have read "Problem with Amana Comfort Zone 18M33PCEH Air Conditioner" but then I read "Not heating

Unit works on cooling mode, will not work in heating mode..blows cold air.
Does reversing valve have a seperate coil or built in"

First of all, an AIR CONDITIONER does not have a "REVERSING VALVE" - only a HEAT PUMP has a REVERSING VALVE. If the THERMOSTAT was REPLACED, did the ORIGINAL COLORED WIRES and ORIGINAL TERMINALS get RECORDED onto a piece of paper? It is imperative that the CORRECT COLORED WIRE within the Thermostat is CONNECTED to the "O" which, on MOST HEAT PUMP Thermostats is the REVERSING VALVE and, in MOST cases is the ORANGE wire. In every HEAT PUMP system that my company has installed, I have directed all of my technicians to use the STANDARD wiring COLOR Codes, regardless of WHAT was previously used. That way, when another HVAC Technician is called, he or she can easily troubleshoot and reduce the amount of time spent on the Service Call, thus saving the homeowner $$$ in the long run. Good Luck!!!

Remote control malfuction

04Feb14
In some states and provinces of Canada, the Lloyds 'remote' CANNOT be programmed into cable vision providers!!!!!!!!!!

One provider 'Shaw Cable' has never heard of Lloyds.

What's up with this.....having to use Lloyds remote to adjust volume and mute, while using Shaw's remote to channel change.
That's just awful. Archie Bunker has it bedda.

Fan will only blow on low when heat is on

your fan most likely is wired for low speed for heat which is common. this should be determined when furnace is set up properly. motors that aren't modulating motors and are multispeed motors typically have low medium and high taps that come off the motor and go to the corresponding relay on the board. low and medium speeds are used for heat and high and medium speeds are used for cooling. but only one speed for heat and one speed for cooling many times medium never gets used. im not familiar with klimaire is this a mini split system and not a regular air handler. cause speed control should be adjustable from the remote. if its a split but if not reaching desired speed due to a malfunction in the units could cause it to run low speed just to maintain the temperature exiting the indoor unit.

I have a Klimaire 16 Seer Dual Zone Mini Split Heat Pump AC and the outside unit fan/fan motor have stopped working where can I replace this at? I live near Dallas Tx surely there is something nearby?

You should check the fuses and breakers it might not be something that expensive, it could also be the controller for the outside unit that is bad. Google kllimare dealers and your zipcode.

I keep getting a p5 error code on the indoor unit of my klimaire minisplit

I have a 3 unit split.
I found out that you can not have one unit set to warm and the other to cold. The compressor doesn't understand it.

Cycle off on and quickly re mode to Cool .
Do it to each unit and you will get it to stay on and then you can adjust.

Took a while for me but it did stay on after switching Mode at startup

I have a Klimaire 1200 btu heat pump split system brand new I installed myself (this is the third one I have installed). It worked fine for a couple of weeks and then the outside unit began to cut off...

Hi,
Often on those types of units they use a sensor to sense the temperature of the return line to prevent liquid floodback...
I am thinking the either there is a shot of really sold coming back soon after startup or that the sensor is bad and is being too sensitive, shutting the unit down when it really does not have too...after it does this once it is more stable and it does not happen again til the end of the cycle...

Actually I think that it may be overcharged and theat is what is causing the problem...
Do you have a very short line set on thsi unit??
Was it setup with a precharged unit and lineset??? or did you build the lineset and then charge it your self???
