Samsung washing machine WF45N5300 automatically changing/extending the wash cycle time.....why?

I realize that when using any cycle on my washer that whenever I chose one of the wash options HEAVY, NORMAL, or LIGHT, the wash time will be adjusted and as well when I add extra rinse or spin to that cycle. When I'm washing my husband's dirty clothes in my Samsung front load HE WF45N5300, I've selected the normal cycle, heavy wash, extra wash and extra spin. The total time display is 1 hour, 50 minutes but the machine is automatically extending it to more than that time after the wash cycle has begun. Instead of a cycle of 1 hour and 50 minutes, it is somewhere between 2 hours and 50 minutes or possibly 3 hours and 50 minutes. Will verify the exact total cycle time when I do another load. Is the machine weighing the clothes to adjust the cycle time and why? It's very frustrating when I do this type load of an evening and have to stay up late to finish the wash and dry before bed. I had a Samsung WF328AAW and the wash cycle for HEAVY with an extra wash, rinse and spin was no where near 1 hour and 50 minutes to begin with and never automatically extended the wash cycle time, until the washer was on its last leg and had numerous issues.

Look for wash cycles in your users'manual. It is best the read the manual well before operation.

SOURCE: Miele washing machine model W713 front load - issues

If it is leaking from the waste pump area it may be blocked by a small piece of clothing like a sock or something similar! This will also cause it to take too long to complete a cycle. Remove the rubber hose onto the waste pump and check inside the hose and the pump, make sure the pump spins freely and that nothing is stuck in the hose pipes leading to the pump

SOURCE: LG WM-3677HW dryer cycle does not dry and lasts for 3 minutes

Press "end of cycle". Plug off the wall. Code can be an indication of several issues. The most common cause is over-sudsing in the machine. Overloading the wash with too much laundry may also cause the LE error code. Lastly, a breakdown in the signal between the microprocessor and the motor may cause that error code. This can occur if there is a loose wire, see that all wires are tightened..........
And rate me pl ...........if helped.

My sons samsung washer fell over in transit he found a piece of concrete wich had come out the bottom and error code 2

Front loading washing machines have concrete blocks to add stability during their high spin cycle and the concrete is most likely from that. Hopefully, your son realized it's necessary to stabilize the tub while moving it. A bouncing tub can smash drain pumps, speed controls, inverters and even the motor itself to ruin a washing machine.

Expected longevity for Electrolux washer EIFLW55HMBO

The average lifespan of a washer, whether it is a top-loader or a front-loader, is about 14 years. This is determined by calculating seven loads of washing per week, or doing one load per day.
By the Numbers Washers are rated by how many cycles they can perform before they break. Each load is considered one cycle, so for a washer to last 14 years, it must be able to handle about 5,100 cycles. Of course, machines that cost less may only be rated at 4,000 cycles, while high-end machines may be rated at 8,000 cycles or higher. If possible, always check the cycle rating before you buy. You may find a bargain where you'll pay only a couple of hundred dollars more for a washer that is rated at twice as many cycles.
Stress The biggest cause of washer breakdown is stress. Overloading the washer puts stress on all of the extra parts, like the motor, the drive belts and the coupling. The harder these parts work, the shorter their lifespan. An 8,000-cycle washer can be reduced to a 1,000-cycle washer if constantly stressed with loads that are way over capacity. To prevent this, wash smaller loads and take larger objects, like quilts, comforters and sleeping bags, to a commercial laundry. This will limit the stress on the washing machine components and assure you of a longer washing machine lifespan.
Extend the Lifespan Wash less to extend the lifespan of your appliance. Even if you cut out just one load per week, you have automatically extended the lifespan of your washer. If you only do three loads per week, you'll effectively double the washer's lifespan.

Turned on whirlpool duet washer, came back to FH as realized forgot to turn water on. Have tried all the suggestions, but each time I plug the machine it tries to drain water and the motor hums. I cannot...

Make sure both hot and cold water supplies are turned on. Select a cold wash cycle and start the wash cycle, do you get cold water? Now select a hot wash cycle and start the wash cycle, do you get hot water? If you only get cold water replace the hot water fill valve. If you only get hot water replace the cold water fill valve. If you get neither replace both fill valves.

My maytag clothes washer Bravo quiet series 300, keeps flashing a Sd error code. Or it may be 5d

What does the Sd code mean?

This code indicates that excessive detergent suds occurred during the cycle. The washer will not be able to spin out water with the excess suds. When "Sd" is displayed, the washer automatically extends the rinse time to remove the excess suds. During this time, the washer pauses the wash action and adds water for additional rinsing. This pause allows the bubbles in the suds to break. This process is necessary and may occur several times to eliminate the suds.

Concentrated detergents labeled 2x and higher will require a small amount of detergent based on load size. Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

Use only HE High Efficiency detergent for BravosTM washers.

Is "Sd" displayed and the wash cycle dial is flashing?

This indicates the washer was not able to clear all the excess suds from the washer. Re-select your desired cycle using cold water. Press Start/Pause. Do not add detergent.

Is "Sd" displayed and the wash cycle dial is not flashing?

If "Sd" is displayed and the wash cycle dial is not flashing, allow the machine to continue running, even if it appears that nothing is happening. When "Sd" is displayed, the washer automatically extends the rinse time to remove the excess suds. During this time, the wash action will pause to allow the bubbles in the suds to break, and the washer will add water for better rinsing. This rinsing process is necessary and may occur several times to eliminate the suds.

Is the drain hose kinked or clogged?

Make sure that the drain hose is not kinked or clogged. Straighten the hose for adequate water flow. Remove any blockage from the drain hose, drainpipe or utility sink. Use the U-shaped drain hose form on the drain hose, and secure the drain hose.

To remove the error display, press Power/Cancel or Pause/Cancel once.

If Power/Cancel or Pause/Cancel does not work:

  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.
  2. Plug in the washer or reconnect the power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start/Pause.

NOTE: If the error remains on the display, and all of the other questions above have been checked, call for service.
