If the washer agitates, but does not spin and empty, it is most likely the switch that is activated by closing the lid. Those Kenmores from that time had a problem with the bracket cracking on that switch and then it would come loose and could not be activated. If it will not agitate, spin or empty, it is most likely the clutch, which kind of looks like a hockey puck with six holes in it. If you’re handy at all it is about a $20 part, and about 1/2 hour of work.

SOURCE: My Kenmore high efficiency 3.5

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
John C

Dryer not getting hot / washer won't run unless dryer on.

If these are separate units, you might have an electrical wiring problem in your house or apartment. If one unit (washer with dryer above), check to make sure the power cord is firmly attached to the terminals. Many other possible causes, too.

Tub capacity of maytag performa

It holds 3.9 cu feet. According to Maytag "This 3.9 cu. ft. capacity high-efficiency washer also features the MaxExtract™ option, which spins clothes at up to 1,300 RPM and means less time doing laundry. You get all that and still use 79 percent less water and 76 percent less energy". A cubic foot is the volume of a cube whose sides are all 1 foot long.

Why does My Samsung VRT front loader leave the soap dispenser full of water at the end of the wash cycle. I have to empty it in order to add detergent for the next wash cycle.

there are 2 components to the soap dispenser, 1 using liquid soap has a little tub that you dispense soap into and 2nd you remove the tub when using powder soap. I assume that you are talking about the little tub is filled with water. How this works is by adding water to the tub the level rises and siphoning empties the little tub. If any water remains it is due to water being added after the little tub has already emptied. That is not a big issue and will happen. Just empty the water or add some water to start the syphon process.

Lint, and debris not going to filter

Generally speaking grass clipping etc will stay in tub on a hi efficiency washer. That's why the water level is very low also-high efficiency,low water use. Most LG washers have an extra water button to add a small level of water per wash.

Instructions
things you'll need:

* Laundry detergent
* Clean cloths
* Measuring tape
* Plywood (if necessary)
* Wrench (if necessary)
1.Verify that the Kenmore top-loading washing machine is completely plugged into a grounded, three-prong power outlet. Reset the fuse or circuit breaker, if necessary; do not plug the washing machine into an extension cord.
2.Make adjustments to the feet on the washing machine if it is shaking or vibrating. The front and rear feet must all be touching the floor evenly. If the floor under the machine is flimsy and cannot adequately support the washer, set a 3/4-inch piece of plywood under the machine for better stability. Load the tub evenly when placing items inside the washing machine and do not overload the tub.
3.Examine the washing machine drum, including between the inner and outer basket, if the machine is clicking or rattling during use. Remove loose objects from inside the drum. If objects are caught between the drums, unplug the washing machine and pull the items out with a pair of pliers, if possible.]
4.the fill hoses behind the washing machine if there are water leaks and ensure the drain hose is connected to a laundry tub or drainpipe. Look at the plumbing throughout the home for drainage problems and correct as necessary.
5.Turn on the water valves behind the washing machine and clean the water inlet hose screens if the water is not running or filling. Do not overload the tub, and use only high-efficiency (marked HE) laundry detergent in high-efficiency Kenmore washers. Note that energy-efficient washing machines often use less water than other machines; this is normal.
6.Choose a wash cycle with a higher spin speed if the water is not draining as expected or items are extremely wet when washing is complete. Reduce overall load size and select a new drain/spin cycle to remove the extra water from the washer. Ensure the drain hose is properly installed on a drainpipe or tub and is not set more than 96 inches above the floor.
7.Reduce the number or volume of items inside the washer tub if the clothes are not rinsed when the cycle is complete. Verify that the water valves are turned on and the correct type and amount of laundry detergent is used.
