My pto on my 1070t case went out - Garden

hmm strange are the belts driving the blades ok if so then the PTO could be damaged but if there's no sign of damage it maybe a bit frozen up/locked up have the engien off but turn the key on and engage the PTO switch and manually turn the PTO (not by the blades please....dont want to have your hand taken off) turn by the PTO itself and if you hear any clicking sound disengage the PTO and engage a few times to ensure your hearing the clicking sound of the PTO turning on and off and it should be back to normal also check any connections going to the PTO before doing the manual work of repairing the PTO

Sound like either the PTO relay is struck in run position or the PTO switch has failed and applying 12v to the PTO relay even in the off position.

your pto pump you have a good mower replace pump about 200.00 but think how old is it whats the possiblty with other stuff breaking down you and exspencive mower hard to make desission me i would have pump put on it also slight very slight be bad check valve but dont bet on it yea hold old how exspenssive is it worth it id replace pump my self it would be worth it

One of the two batteries were not making a connection

I had to cut out a small piece of plastic that interfered with battery alignment

As soon as batteries are installed in remote transmitter you will see a red LED flash a few times

After I made this correction everything worked

yes there is. The feathering valve spring is broke.

It sounds like you may have a siezed bearing or something jammed in the PTO mechanism. In any case, you will have to strip the PTO to troubleshoot it. A complete PTO replacement will probably not be called for, just the defective part.

Take the gears out.Bell housing side of pto shaft, insert punch in hole and use allen wrench to remove plug on shaft end. use punch in allen screw hole to drive shaft out of housing (don't mess up the threads!!)

You likely need the speed sensor replaced in the rear of the tractor,either above or below the pto shaft.There is also a pto relay module beside the fuse panel that may need to be replace(only on the early 6000 series tractors,later it was replaced by the bcu).If you can get the codes from the bcu and relay the info to me i can likely tell you for sure what you need to do if none of the above works.
