SOURCE: One for all universal remote model URC-3220 Attempting to program direct Tv receiver to remote. Need Receiver code number

Hello, follow this link to download the manual and the codes for your remotes:
http://www.ofausa.com/remote.php?type=URC3220
just right click and save as on the download links.

if this does not work you can try the search method,
you do this by either holding down the device button eg: TV or if you have one the "magic" button for three seconds, a light should then flash twice to say you have done this correctly.
then press the keys 991 then the power button.
you must now press the channel up key (ch+) possibly upto 150 times while the remote cycles through every code.
Once your tv or device switches off stop pressing the ch+ key and press the power button to make sure it switches back on,
(if you press ch+ too many times you can go back by pressing ch-)
When complete press the magic or device key again to save the settings (light should flash twice to confirm)

Many thanks
Mark

SOURCE: need code for direct tv for my rca remot universal control rcu600d

The product you are trying to access may be called DirecTV(different spelling). You will need to find the make of your set top box used to decode the DirecTV and then look up satelite codes in the user manual for the remote to select the correct code.

the manual for the remote can be found at

http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/files/rcfiles.cgi?area=other&db=devices&br=philipsmagnavox&dv=universalremote&md=pm435&kw=pm435s&st=&ar=&dt=&so=&pg=1&file=others/philips/pm435-manual.zip

In case you dont have the book still. Good luck.

Any drama, get back to me here.

regards
Graeme

SOURCE: set top box and remote control

My remote wasn't working until I programmed it to work with itself ... (how odd it wasn't done already).

"CBL" button and ""OK/SEL" held down simulataneously for 3 seconds ... then "001" for the Scientific Atlanta. If the unit turns off, you're in business.

Change cable box control

To change the cable box control, you will need to do the following:
  1. Locate the cable box remote: Most cable boxes come with a remote control that allows you to change the channels and adjust the volume.
  2. Change the cable box settings: Use the remote to access the cable box's menu and change the settings as needed. This may include selecting a new channel, adjusting the volume, or changing the aspect ratio.
  3. Pair the remote with the cable box: If you have a universal remote, you may need to pair it with your cable box in order to control it. This typically involves pressing a button on the remote that allows it to search for compatible devices, then selecting your cable box from the list of available devices.
  4. Program the remote to control other devices: If you have a universal remote, you may also be able to program it to control other devices, such as your TV and sound system.
If you're having trouble changing the cable box control, you may need to consult the cable box manual or contact the cable company for further assistance.

I have an Orion 19"

You usually need the original remote. The trouble with universal remotes is that they generally control only the basic functions of a TV (power, volume, channel) but not much else. Without the original, you often lose other functions. You can try the front panel buttons if yours has them. On some sets the on-screen menus allow you to access caption settings.

But are you sure the captions are coming from the TV? Sure, the TV is displaying them, but if you have a satellite receiver, cable box or digital set-top box, the captions may be coming from that device. This is likely to be true if the captions just mysteriously started and you don't have or aren't using the TV original remote. These devices often don't allow a TV's built-in caption decoder to work properly, so they provide captions themselves. You may have turned captions on using that device's remote. Check the menu for caption controls.

None of the codes listed works for my panasonic television. None of them will allow me to use the channel or volume buttons and only one of them allowed me to turn the tv off. Now that one doesn't even...

Hello
I'll give you some universal remote control codes for Panasonic to check it with your remote control They are used as general universal codes for panasonic.
Three digit universal remote codes to check with are:
003/ 054/ 055/ 062/ 070/ 148/ 149/ 170/ 171
Four digit unvicersl remote codes to check with are:
0171 0148 0054 0170 0062 0374 0381 0437 0950 0003 0070

Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.
Code Search If after trying "Direct Code Entry" your device does not respond, or if your brand is not listed, try doing a search of the code library for your code by following these steps.
  1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
  2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
  4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.
Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search.

Logitech harmony xbox 360 remote not communicating with 360.

There is a setting that may need to be changed within the Xbox 360, to allow it to be controlled by a Harmony Advanced Universal Remote.

To configure your Xbox 360 to respond to a Harmony Remote

  1. Using your original Xbox 360 controller, go into the Xbox Dashboard on the Xbox menu
  2. Select "Console Settings"
  3. Select "Remote Control"
  4. If "All channels" is selected, select "Xbox 360 Media Remote”. If "Xbox 360 Media Remote" is selected, then select "All channels"
Your Harmony remote should now control your Xbox 360

Vizio remote

The remotes for the TV and Direct TV box are universal remotes that can operate very basic functions for whatever else they are programmed to control. If you can program the TVs remote to operate the Direct TV box it will basically only control power and channel. Maybe something else, but not much. The same goes for the Direct TV remote. It will control basic functions on the TV; power, channel & volume. Best bet would be to purchase a universal remote that can learn functions from the original or just keep both remotes available by the TV.

PIP (Picture In Picture) - Your television should have the capability because it has two built in tuners. It can show two channels at the same time or show one channel and one video source (whatever is connected to the audio/video inputs). However, because you are using DTV (Direct TV) you are very limited because you are not using the built in tuners on your television. You should be able to see one picture from the DTV channel and one from lets say your DVD player. If your DTV box has two tuners built in then you should have the PIP capabilities from your DTV and not your television. I'm guessing your DTV is a single tuner (one satellite cable to your box). If you want to watch two different channels you'll need to either upgrade your box or attach another box to your television.

Option: you could also connect an antenna to your television this way you can use the PIP function. Obviously you'll only be able to view whatever local stations you can get with the antenna. Depending on where you live you might or might not have a lot of channels to choose from.

Harmony 880 Logitech won't change channels

Was it working before?  Is it possible you selected the wrong brand of TV when programming the remote?  Do you use a cable box or satellite dish with your TV (in other words, do you change channels by changing the channel on the TV, or on the digital box connected to your TV)?

Code for Direct TV remote control

Program AV1 with 20695, program TV with 10765, then switch to AV1, press select/mute, enter 933, and press select

This will allow volume and mute controls while in DTV mode and allow power on and off while in TV mode. This worked for me on the RC32 remote control.

Best of luck

Set top box and remote control

I have the same problem. When I move the 8300HDC away from the TV, or power off the TV, the remote responds. There seems to be some kind of RF interference, which makes no sense since the TV shouldn't emit RF, and the the box should be using IR only for remote input. My TV is a 46" LCD Samsung. Try turning off the TV and see if the 8300HDC responds to powering on and off with the remote.
