Hello. My F100 has been working great until the last couple of rolls of film. The numbers are on the negatives but no images. Any ideas?

Usually means that either the film has not been exposed, or has been so grossly underexposed that the images do not register. Try firing the camera without film, but with the back open, and see if a) the shutter works, and b) the lens aperture opens and closes as it should. May need a service, which can be expensive.

SOURCE: FO-P610 Fax problem

I have the same problem, incorrect film, check film. Arrrrrgh...
After been trying about for 2 hrs to fix this stupid problem.
Eventually I tried a trick to cheat the machine. It works for me.
This is what I do.
It reads the old film. So, cut out about 3 pages length of old film.
Join the old film to the new film starting point. Make sure you have the same side for both film(one side will scratch, but not the other side). To find if you have a right side, use a sticky tape (Sellotape) to stick and pull off and you will see the black thingy come off.
One end of Old film join to the new film, the other end join to the roller. Make sure you stick the full width of the joint but not just abit.
Now roll back the new film side with old film. Load to the fax machine.
The fax machine now will check film (of course we have the old film for the first section for him to check).
Film check Passed.
Now make a few copy (Photocopy) documents until you are satisfied with the resolutions, approx 4 pages.
then Bingo, you got new film in it and no more check film.
And touch wood that I don't need to open the cover again till it finished!
Good Luck.

SOURCE: Hello, Please help me I love my camera! The last 3

Most likely this is a shutter problem. If you are using flash and getting the half pictures, then make sure the flash is a canon compatible flash and the synch is set to 60th. If the problem is all the time including non-flash pictures, then the shutter will have to be repaired.

Step by step guide for rolling a film reel for developing

Rolling film on a metal reel can be very challenging and for years I avoided using these reels in favor of the plastic ones with the large lip for leading the negative around the reel. Over the last year or so I have been working on getting around this fear of not being able to roll the film.

The first and most important thing that you have to make sure is that when you cut off the "L" shaped piece make sure that you cut the film between the sprocket holes. Those first few holes are crucial for the ability to successfully loading the film on to the reel.

On the center post of the reel there are two very small hooks that you want the negative to hook on to using those sprocket holes. These hooks work to make sure that the film stays put while you roll and throughout the development process.

Once the film is hooked on you are going to slowly turn the reel around and around holding the unrolled film on the sides. Make sure to hold on the sides because you don't want your fingers to scratch the very sensitive negative.

If you practice in the light with dead rolls of film you can check if you rolled well by holding up the roll and looking though. If you can see between the rounds of film then you have done a good job. It is important that the film be rolled smoothly because if parts are touching then the chemicals can't get in and the film will not develop properly. Once you have mastered rolling this way in the light take some time to roll a dead roll of film in the dark before you get to the real stuff (no pun intended).

Nikon FM10 will only release shutter with cable

Hello Blair,
I too like old school camera, mine are the N2000, N6006, N80, and F100. First without film in the camera I would attempt to release the shutter. If it does then there is something going on with the film transfer causing a bind.

However, If it continues not to release the shutter I would put the FM10 on the shelf then go to KEH.com for another. Just now checked KEH.com, 2014-05-26, a FM10 in EX condition is $89, EX+ condition $99. That would be a much better move than repairing yours and less expensive.

I thought I loaded the film in a Nikon F100. The Camera showed the film was moving 1-24 I got to 24 the film re-winded I took it to get developed and The film was clear I just need to know how the load...

Since you managed to close the back of the camera and shoot, you've placed the actual canister into the camera correctly.

What happened is there are a series of pegs on the left side of the camera, or sometimes just a red indication line, that the film must be placed onto. If you don't lay the film onto this, the camera won't pull the film out of the canister when you shoot, but it will rewind it back into the canister correctly when it thinks you are out of shots. This will result in a blank roll of film.

Ink ribbon or paper roll error. the in ribbon is broken, or the paper roll is jammed. Clear the problem. I put new roll and ink cartridge in and still showing error

Happend twice to me. What sometimes happens is that the paper roll was not changed at the time the ink was. Therefore the paper roll was allowed to remain in the printer until the very last sheet. On the last sheet there is a sticker that says paper out. (stupid idea) This sticker makes the last sheet of paper too thick to fit through the last paper guide / feed. Because of this, the ink film breaks and that specific error message is displayed until that last piece of 4x6 is pulled from the paper feed. Clear that out, and all is good.. Change the paper every time u change the ink.

Nikon f100 film won't advance

We will assume you know how to load the film to the red mark. If the film is not advancing a couple of things could be happening. When you close the back door it is not engaging the film to hold it against the take-up spool. If so then that needs to be fixed. The other thing to check is the left side where the film cartridge goes in, does it turn. If not it is binding the film cartridge. Nikon Film 1-800-645-6687

Nikon F100 does not advance film to start of roll,

Jim, it really sounds like one of threethings. Either will require a repair shop.
1. the film sensor is not recognizing film in the film chamber, or film across the back, therefore not telling the advance motor to advance film...
2. The film advance motor itself needs replaced.
3. The rear door latch switch needs replaced.
Since everything else seems to do OK, I doubt the main computer board is bad.

My first roll of film came back all blank. Not even one negative was underexposed. I have just bought a Nikon F6 film camara.

Just to make sure, if you do see the picture on your negatives, then the problem most likely lies within the developer. Try somewhere else and see if that works for you. If not, then you can use another type of film. The film could have been mishandled when manufacturered. These cameras don't usually have problems so that would be the last thing I would look at.
