I own a Yamaha 2003 g22 has golf cart and having fuel problems is my guess. I checked the fuel pump, took off the fuel line to carburator and it’s spitting gas, change the spark plug, check to see if there’s a spark, cleaned the carburetor, fuel lines are clear. I can tel the fuel filter isn’t filling with fuel when I reconnect the fuel line from the carb. Any help would be much appreciated. Thought cleaning the carb would have fixed the problem.

As it appears the fuel pump functions, I suspect either the carburetor float is stuck or the carburetor bowl has mostly filled with water.

First drain fuel bowl. If you capture fuel and transfer to a clear glass container, you may see a water line develop within a few seconds (water on bottom fuel on top).

After fuel empties from bowl leave drain open and crank engine for a few seconds. Additional fuel should flow from the fuel drain. If no fuel then likely the float is stuck. Remove and clean fuel bowl. Check the float and/or inlet needle is not stuck.

If you found water in the fuel bowl, drain fuel tank and refill with fresh fuel. Check all fuel containers for water. Give the fuel container a thorough shake, and pour a sample into glass container. Look for visible water line.

SOURCE: weedeater will not start. was running, shut it off

Pull the spark plug after pushing the primer bulb and cranking a few times...if the plug is "wet" (indicating fuel is present in the cylinder) then the next step will be checking the compression...compression should read above 90psi (preferrably 100-125psi)...if compression is below 90psi, the most likely culprit will be a stuck piston ring.

Check the grommet that sits on top of tank where lines from go carb. Grommet may be rotten and crack. Try that. Have you ever replace the carb repair kit? The diaphram may be torn, defoam or have holes in them. Carb kit cost arount $10, but don't mess with the welch plug or screen in carb.

Probably the inertia switch for the fuel pump..You owners manual should show you where its located..See if the button has pop up ..If it has push it back down until it clicks..If it wont stay down then hold it down and see if it will start..If it does you will have to replace it..If thats all good then check the relay for the fuel pump..

Can valve seals be replaced without removing engine on a g9 Yamaha golf cart

If you can get access to the spark plugs easily and the rocker gear easily then you can do the job in car. You will need a tool to go in the plug holes and push up un the valve heads to hold then up while you replace the spring retaining collets. A tedious job but can be done.

I have recently purchased a G22 Yamaha Golf cart and it's just over 4 years old. The batteries were replaced about 4 months proir to my buying. it goes well but the charger shows after charging a yellow...

When I have this sort of problem, I always double check battery connections, all should be clean and tight and the cables should be in good condition. Then I check each battery under load and see if any voltage drops too much. If that doesn't show any problems then I think a dealer might be your answer. A dealer would have a battery discharge machine that would how good your batteries are.
