My remote works on all but my uplight. It works fine with the downlight and the fan itself. Already tried DIP switches.

SOURCE: I have a Hampton Bay

Welcome to FixYa!

The whole system of this kind of fan is integrated in one PC Board (PCB). Your problem concerns only a portion of the components of the PCB. You need a tester, soldering iron, soldering lead and must be able to know how to use the soldering iron and must be able to identify capacitors/resistors.

My best advise is to replace the whole PCB since it will require you a tremendous work if you are not knowledgeable about the things I mentioned, and needless to say, the components are hard to find than the ready made PCB.

You can visit this site http://www.eceilingfans.com/hampton_bay_ceiling_fans.html and give them a call to order for your PCB. They have available PC Boards for all hamptom bay ceiling fans.

You can contact them in these numbers: Phone 979-553-3260 Fax 979-553-3391
Just provide them with the model number of your fan (AC-552AL) and order for it's PCB.

Samples of a some PCB's here: http://www.eceilingfans.com/pc_boards_-_ceiling_fans.html

Thank you for using FixYa.

Hunter fan remote #99600 no dip switches

I have a hunter fanaway ceiling fan with remote it came with. they work fine. i want to set an additional remote for use at different light switch location. there are NO DIP SWITCHES in it, and i can't figure out how to pair it. super frustrated. i've tried turning power off, then back on & trying to pair with no luck. the light on the remote does turn on when you push a button, so the battery is fine.
any ideas? i've looked everywhere online

Remote works fine for fan and uplight however, lower light goes bright then dims to off.

there seems to be a problem try pressing and holding the light button see if that helps if not there is an issue with the module on the fan itself

We installed a 27185 remote kit in a hunter fan, and factory settings. The fan light goes on and off by itself. I changed the dip switches( matched them to the remote to the controller), and the fan and...

I have had the same problem with the light coming on intermittently by itself. At first I also could not change the settings and have the remote work with the new settings. But I found out that when you change the dip switch of the receiver you must turn off the power using the wall switch or the circuit breaker and turn it back on before the receiver will use the new dip setting. I am still waiting to see if the light will come back on after changing the dip switches from 1-on, 2-on, 3-on, 4-off to 1-off, 2-on, 3-on, 4-on and the remote's jumpers from 1-jumpered, 2-jumpered, 3-jumpered, 4- no jumper to 1-no jumper, 2-jumpered, 3-jumpered, 4- jumpered.

Two ceiling fans, both remotes control the same fan

Most likely the dip switches on the remote receivers don't match (on the second fan, the one that doesn't work). While the remote dip swithes on both remotes match the working fan. You can simply reset the dip switches on the second fan receiver to match the one working remote, i.e. you don't need to have a second remote, one can work both fans as long as the codes (dip switches match). If you want you can make all the remotes the same, that way you have two remotes, or if you want them independent each remote and remote receiver must have unique codes (dip switch settings).

Remote Control Problem

I had this problem. One day everything worked. The next day the fan ran at 1 speed and the remote didn't turn on the light, change fan speed, nothing. I changed batteries on the remote - no good. As you should know, the dip switches on the remote and on the fan have to match - which makes the remote and the fan on the same radio frequency so they can talk to each other. (They let you change radio frequency so that you don't control a similar fan down the hall as well as the one in the room that you intended to control.) Anyway, come to find out from the fan guy at Home Depot that sometime the dip switches on the fan "fall" out of place leaving the remote unable to talk to the fan. Sounded crazy, but sure enough one of the dip switches on the fan wasn't tightly in place. Once all the dip switches were tightly in place (with the fan dip switches matching the remote dip switches) everything ran fine. To change the dip switches on my fan that meant uninstalling the fan from the ceiling and taking the big top cover off to expose the dip switches.
