1-From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon > Advanced Settings.
2-Tap Time Zone
3-Turn off the Auto option and select the correct time zone.
4-Sync your Fitbit device.

Good question, are we referring to the Fitbit Zip?
If so I would remove the battery for 10 seconds then replace, this will restart the unit.
