Your machine is maybe clogged up. The indicator is a vacuum indicator so when the machine is clogged the vacuum in the tank is very high compared to normal use. Unclog it and it will maybe go out depending on the vacuum. Some need to be reset but I can't see your make and model.

SOURCE: loss of suction and bag full

Sounds like you still have a clog, either in the hose, drop something down it to see if it comes out the other side. The other place is the dirt inlet by the brush roll. Take off either the top cover or the bottom plate and you can check it out.

SOURCE: Electrolux model 2100 shuts off with slightest suction blockage

This is exactly the symptom you would expect from a defective bag control valve. The actual control valve sits under the dial on top of the vac and often cracks internally. It can be replaced in about 15 minutes by a good tech with genuine parts from AERUS Elctrolux dealer or repair center.
You can open the vac front to rear like a **** shell by sliding the bumpers out the front with the bag door open, however you must be careful not to disturb the wiring harness and to mark wiring locations. The body must be carefully realigned for closure. If it is not perfect you will not be able to slide the bumpers back in.

I cleaned the filter and emptied out the canister from the bottom and now the dirt comes out on my filter and not in the canister?

The first place the "dirty" air enters is the top chamber of the canister where it traps the bigger stuff.

The canister has two clean-out doors so make sure you open them both (top and bottom) or you could have problems.

Nice thing about the Shark as it has a number of clean-out points starting at the base of the hose where it enters the bottom of the vac. to the beater brush (on the bottom of just behind the brush assembly). Good luck!

How do you take apart electrolux canister vacuum #2100?

ok, you need to bypass the auto shut of. Put the vac on it's side and pull off the sliders on both sides.Carefully pull machine apart.lift the front of the piece that hold you bag.Underneathe there is a clear tube plugged in to a round thing on switch area.Simply pull the tube out of the rouind trhing. This will allow you to fillthe bag without shut dow.Just make sure your bag doesn't get too full....Chris

The vacuum won't turn on. Overheat light and filter lights alternately flashing.

some motors have a reset button that has to be pushed to get power back to motor after over heat. it is ussually located near the rear of the motor

I have an older model Electrolux canister vacuum and it turns off quickly after turning on and this checkered light comes on. It happened right after i finished cleaning the ashes in my stove which i...

Make sure there is no obstruction anywhere along the hose. Also properly clean the filter and collection bag. This may have become blocked due to the fine ash, sort of sealing the bag.

Bag was full, changed it, the unit now turns off

Try dialing the control valve to the mid way position. If the unit still shuts down with the bag full light on you have a damaged control valve under the dial on the top of the vac.
This valve failure is common in this model and can only be repaired by someone with original AERUS Electrolux repair parts, generally at an AERUS repair shop.

Stopped working, lights work, shows full light when not full.

Remove the bag and put in a fresh bag. Then rotate the dial on top of the vac to the middle position. When cleaning fine dust the vac will shut off before the bag is full as it is sensing a clogged bag and cannot sense proper air flow through the bag. If this persists the sensor under teh top dial may be damaged and need to be replaced
