If the oil was already mixed with the oil then it is best to siphon out the gas and put the regular back in. A little will not hurt.

its under the front of the tank take the seat off undo the allen bolt at the front right side of the tank and lift the front of the tank up there is a support rod under the tank to hold the tank up

the recommended mix is 40:1. So for 5 liters of fuel you're looking at 4.2 ounces of oil.

you put 100 mils of oil into 5 litre container and add 5 litres of fuel only that is 50:1 petrol oil ratio

I have a Rover Push lawn mower. Type 02031, Serial Number 0254990, Briggs and Stratton Quantam40 XTRA. My son has put two stroke petrol mix into this 4 stroke mower. Is this a problem?

Your mower is likely to throw out clouds of blue smoke, just as a 2 stroke engine does.

The spark plug may become oily and fouled, misfire and splutter/stall.

However, it's not a really serious problem and you're not going to cause any permanent damage. The easiest solution is to get a tube and syphon the 2 stroke mix out of the mower's fuel tank.

2-stroke or 4-stroke?

Well, if it has an oil drain plug and/or a fill plug for oil, It's a 4 stroke. If it has an odd shaped muffler/resonator, it's a 2 stroke.

40:1 ratio is the norm, up to 50:1, you can get a 40:1 ratio mix by adding 2.5 cc of 2 stroke oil to 1 litre of petrol. Make sure you do not use car engine oil, it must be special 2 stroke oil which is what they sell for old lawn mowers and strimmers etc. If your exhuast is smoking then you put in too much oil so add more petrol...

the 4 stroke engine only needs petrol in its tank . if your motor has a dipstick for oil it is a four stroke ,,only two strokes requires oil and petrol mix as they have no oil sump in their design

What sroke is a masport 635. is it two or 4 stroke. it has an openping for the petrol and a seperate opening for the oil.

Judging from what discription you are giving me I would say it is a 4 stroke, so make sure you have either sae 30 or 10/w30 oil in crankcase where it says oil and petrol (gas) in the other tank. 2StrokeJim

I have a Poulan 625 push mower. What type of oil should I use in it? I can't find my manual.

If it has a 4 stroke engine, as most lawnmowers do, then you just car engine oil. Very occasionally you come across 2 stroke mowers.

The way to know if it's a 4 stroke or 2 stroke engine is, if it has an oil tank it's a 4 stroke engine. If there's only the one tank, i.e. you mix the oil with the petrol then it's a 2 stroke engine.

If it's a 2 stroke engine you mix petrol and 2 stroke oil at a ratio of 40:1

your victa is a 2 stroke vc160 these units sare stated to run 25:1 fuel / oil ratio

that is 40 mils of 2 stroke for every 1.0 litre of petrol that mix

so if mixing 2 litres - 1st put in 80 mils of good quality 2 stroke oil then put in 2 litres of petrol , give good shake and fill up your mower tank

2 stroke oil that you would use for sthil chainsaw would be ok its hi quality

you could use some fuel stabilizer additive to hekp stop mix from going stale too soon
if wish but most times just mix enoyugh mix to het job done , then mix more if need it

that way mix is always fresh

If is a 4 stroke don't put oil in fuel tank. There is oil fill. Not familiar with this model. If it is a walk behind mower check at base of engine there may be a plug there it has 2 little pegs sticking up.
