I have a Jvc pc-x250 without the remote and the power button does nothing. Any tips?

You have to have remote to unlock the keylock. Without a remote you will not be able to access any other button than power button.

I would either call JVC to see if known issue or to inquire if set has a lockout feature that kills remote and all button features----other possible reason in main board with all micro functions has a problem.

Go to the unit and press the Standby (Icon has the Power symbol) button to the left of the JVC logo. Use the Source button to switch from one source to another (the button is above and to the right of the JVC logo).

The manual for the JVC TH-A85 is available from JVC. The direct link is http://www.jvc.co.uk/files/instruction_manual/lvt1025-003a.pdf . See page 19 (22 of the pdf) for the details. See page 5 (8 of the pdf) for the layout of the controls on the center unit.

Unfortunately the original remote is no longer available. There may be universal remotes that will control the system. (The ones that can be programmed by a USB connection to a computer will be the easiest to program.)

Once you've loaded all 10 discs..press the "continue" button on your remote, then press the cd play button directly beneath it.hopefully you have the remote controller...if not...there are similar buttons on the unit itself.

Looks like it is still available from my distributor. It's about $18.00 plus shipping.

Using trial and error, I set the time on my JVC PC-X250 boom box by:

1. Turn unit OFF.
2. Press and hold PROG/SET button until hour digits start flashing.
3. Use SEARCH DOWN and/or UP buttons to set correct hour (including AM/PM).
4. Press PROG/SET again until minutes digits start flashing.
5. Use SEARCH DOWN and/or UP buttons to set correct minutes.
6. Press PROG/SET again until time is not flashing.

a universal remote control is programmable without codes using this general process:

• push and hold 3 sec the button set up
• select the device to control (TV DVD etc)

The tv has to be ON at this step (use the power button in the tv front panel

• use the remote control power button and try to get your tv pushing the button again and again and again
• Caution! Go slow because when finally the tv turns on you have to push enter in the remote control to save this code that actually is the one the tv needs,

Without the code on JER-323:
1.Manually turn on the component you want the remote to control.
2. Press the device button, example:( TV) and the (power button) for 3 seconds until the (on/off button stays lit).
3. Once the (on/off) button is lit, press the (on/off) button until the unit (the TV or unit you are trying to control.) turns off.
4. When the code is located, press the (stop) button at the bottom to save the code.
