MItutoyo sj-210 surf tester keeps saying limit error. What do I do to fix this issue?

Did you ever get a response to this? I'm having the same issue, but the troubleshooting guide in the user's manual does not list "limit error" as one the issues. For me, after the limit error message clears, I have no problem getting a good reading on a reference standard. If I try to take another reading, however, I get a limit error. When it clears, again, I can take one reading, then the next produces another limit error. No obvious reason or remedy. Did you ever get a response to this? Turn the battery switch to on and unplug. hold down power and start/stop button simultaneously. This will start the homing process.
