How do I get the check engine codes? 2003 Durango

There's two ways to retrieve the code. 1. Put the key in the ignition and turn the key to the "ACC" position, then back to "Off", then ACC, and Off, then ACC. (Off, ACC, Off, ACC, Off, ACC) You don't have to do it fast, just hold each position for about 1 second. On the final "ACC" position, the trouble code should flash in the digital odometer. (P#####) When you have the code, you can Google it and you'll see what the code means. 2. Use your scan tool (Or use Autozone's) and plug into the OBDII port under the dashboard and pull the code. They should have a book that tells you what the code means.

After i installed my alpine cd Player in my 2002 ford mustang I pressed the power/source button on the receiver and the engine started. What could cause this to happen?

when you push that power button it draws power from a 12volt constant and sends it to the acc on the deck witch tells it to turn on and off! this acc may be shared with the ing acc. now the only way that it could start your engine is if this acc is grounding out to stater, ing, acc wires etc, remote car starter involed?
