I have an audio source AMP1200 without any signs of power when I turn it on. Can I have it service or dump another 900+ dollars on a new one?

Smuddge, I'll guess since June 2011, you've recovered your MC303. So if that's the case congratulations, it's a great feeling to repair something you enjoy using. For any one else, here is my repair for the MC303 as smuddge and I had the same issue. Err 1 audio quality poor to non existent. Needs new battery, CR2032 (6 dollars) Remove the bottom cover carefully 8 screws. (Don't lose them) Remove and replace CR2032 Replace bottom cover 8 screws. Recommend factory preset (restore) Power off MC303 Hold shift Turn on power, (start up dialogue) By pressing (ENTER) you have just restored the factory setting. This might be a nice treat if you we're in the dumps over your gear malfunctioning. Regards, 5

Good day sir/maam, if you look very close to the LCD, you can see something like windows, but its really dark? chances are your LCD just lost its inverter module that powers your LCD's backlight. visit a local notebook dealer to confirm the problem. Ask if they have sources of LCD inverters for your laptop model. the service and replacement also.

Two possibilities:
1. Your source material does not contain bass frequencies.
2. Your SUBWOOFER SET - BASS OUT is set to Front, rather than SWFR (subwoofer). See page 63 of the manual.

Has info on just about every thing, including shifter. You didn't say whether yours is manual or auto. You could source a used shifter from your local Saab specialist or local junk yard, though there aren't too many Saabs at the wreckers; a good sign!

these repairs normally cost like 2,500 dollars. this includes labor charge. there are other options as well but, i recommend you take it to a Saab dealership for optimal service and warranty.. the cheapest i have found is 1,005 dollars

First you need a new repairman. It should not cost 800 to 900 dollars to repair any or all of the boards in the unit and any reputable repair facility would deduct the cost of the service call from the bill not add it on. The Perfect Focus problem sounds like a convergence issue. It's hard to tell from your description whether the bars are misconvergence or something else. Bad CRTs? Maybe, but I doubt that is the problem with only two years on them. You need to check with friends or neighbors and find a repairman who knows what he is doing and isn't out to fleece you or talk you into buying a new unit. I've fixed plenty of projection TVs for under $100 (We only charge $75 for a service call, work on your unit for 1 hour, and subtract this from the cost of repair) If I can fix it in an hour with no parts it only costs you $75. Get a new repairman with intelligence and integrity and I think your problems will be solved at a price you can afford and be happy with. Good luck.

Audio Dubbing on DV: Here's how you do this: Play your tape on the TRV-9 and feed the signal into the TRV-900, using the Firewire connector. Set the TRV-900's audio option to record in the 12-bit mode. When this is done, you will have the video re-recorded on the TRV-900 and the audio laid down on the primary 12-bit audio channel. Then, you can run the tape back through for a 2nd pass in the TRV-900, with the recorder set to the audio-dubbing mode. The audio you put into the TRV-900 this time, will be recorded on the secondary 12-bit channel. You can select either 12-bit channel when you play the edited tape back or you can mix both stereo channels into the output. Once you record on the 16-bit channel, you can't dub audio back onto that recording, without erasing the original channel, as the recording space for both 12-bit channels is occupied. You can't selectively re-record just audio onto the 16-bit channel either, without the video being re-recorded along with it. Both video and audio are sent over the same Firewire connector, so you can't input them from mixed sources, as you can with analog recordings. Only the secondary 12-bit audio channel can be used in the audio-dubbing mode. You can't dub onto the 16-bit channel or onto the primary 12-bit channel. The primary 12-bit channel can be used only when you're recording video along with it.
