After governor is remove from farmall cub does it need to be timed when installed?

There's a very good chance the governor broke inside the crank case... outside adjustments won't help at this point... remove the motor and remove bottom portion of housing and you will find the problem.

The spring increases the speed, the governor decreases the speed when the spring has pressure released from it. Therefore either linkage, throttle shafts or governor is worn or broken. The governor can be adjusted but 90 percent of the time it is broken. The governor mechanism is inside engine and requires removing engine from equipment and removal of pan.

Be sure the rod from the governor that attaches to the carburetor is not causing the froze up problem and check throttle shaft on carb. The governor does not give much trouble with freezing up.
