Yes it can be repaired but it will be costly.

I was not able to find any replacements on-line.

But, the entire head unit is only 32.99 on ebay.

It would prolly cost you just as much for a faceplate.

your not supposed to. if it's broken then contact Black&Decker or buy a new one. Dewalt makes a good one or the multi-master for various things.

SOURCE: Just installed an XDM7615 Dual stereo and the face

There are 2 very small screws on the back of the face plate that need to be removed. Once these are removed, you may then remove the face plate.

Faceplate stays half opened, half closed will on not turn

I have the exact same problem. I called the Kenwood tech line and the tech reported that the ribbon cable is probably broke. It is the flex cable between the head unit and the rotating face plate. He said it's not an expensive fix but we would need to mail it to a service center if you're like me and not near one. I just replaced mine with a new unit. It was about time anyways.

try taken face plate off if detachable then put back on sounds like the face plate clip might be weak and or missing spring inside
but if face plate stays attached just need to clean and put back on right to deck no easy way to say that
