Canon W8400 will not turn on.. A few lights flash on the display, you have a couple clicks from the power supply but then nothing.. Any idea what this could be?

With a very limited problem description, not sure how to help, but here are a few ideas.

If the machine gives a few beeps, or any lights come on temporarily, then nothing, it could be a flaky power supply, or worse case your BIOS is hosed. Power supplies are not cheap, so go buy a cheap vote meter at Harbor Freight for about $5 and test it 1st. If your BIOS is hosed, it requires replacing the BIOS ROM chip on the mother board. If you get a few beeps and some screen flashing, it could be the hard drive, although not likely. You should get some sort of "can not locate OS" error message in that case. Could also be bad RAM memory (your replaceable DDR board(s)), which will give you a couple of beeps and then halt. A last possibility is the display has gone bad or became disconnected.

If nothing happens at all (no beeps, no lights, no nothing), it could also be the power supply and the battery is now totally dead. Or the connection for the power supply, or the battery is hosed and will take no charge at all. Some laptops will run with just a power supply, some require a working battery. Again, you can test the battery with a volt meter. Not an actual battery load test, but at least see if it is producing any voltage at all.

I have the very same issue.. I purchased a new power supply for $331 and after I installed it, same thing! nothing changed so it's not the power supply..

All put the name in with the model. Its a LG .Your power supply is down. This could be capitator or transitor bad if the caps are swelled up replace them with the same value .

i have the same problem with PM tank (error code E0250A). tried three! new ink tanks and nothing. the empty one is fine...

E42 22 = Scanner error

E4 = No ink

E2-2 = No paper (ASF)

you should be able to press ESC to exit hibernation, or remove the battery, remove the plug, press and hold the power button for 60 sec, and reinsert battery and power and turn on. when restarted, right click on desktop, click properties, and click the screen aver tab, click the power button, click advanced, and remove the check box beside enable hibernation on the "Hibernation" tab. it shouldn't do it again

eplace ink tank with correct 1. trust me. i work for the company

plug it in or keep finger on the power button longer.
