I think you mixed the F and the D in the model# so it should read MFD2561HES instead.

There are a few things that can cause an ice maker to stop working. Firstly, would be the temperature inside the freezer not being cold enough. It should be as close to 0' F as possible.

There is an inline fuse that sometimes, but rarely blows. When you changed the icemaker, did it come with a new harness or did you swap the one off the old icemaker onto the new one? Removing the harness and ohming the black wire ( The one with the white piece that clips onto the bottom of the icemaker) will determine if that fuse is still good. Without knowing what happened to the old icemaker, I would not rule that out!

More commonly, The water solenoid goes bad and will let the icemaker cycle without giving it water. Sometimes it goes completely dead while most often it fails to close completely. When this happens, it allows water to "drip" and usually freezes inside the water fill tube. ( Think of your kitchen faucet.. When they start to go bad, they will not shut off and needs to be jiggled to stop it from dripping) If this happens, the fill tube will need to be defrosted after a new valve has been installed. Defrosting the fridge is recommended as you can damage the inside if you use a hairdryer or some other form of rapid heat.

The sizzling sound you hear is most likely the fridge in its defrost cycle. During this time, you would not hear it running and it would get louder when the freezer drawer is opened. It would sound similar to water drops hitting a hot stove. This is completely normal and happens randomly! Do not panic over this!

SOURCE: Maytag Refrigerator Ice Maker

  • first make sure the metal arm to the right of it is lowered, this turns the icemaker on.
  • then you can check the water supply to make sure it is turned on, sometimes when houses are vacant they turn the water off as a precaution. the valve may be behind the refrigerator or under the sink in the kitchen.
  • then...
The refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser (if equipped). The valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
Another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees. In addition, check the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking more water from entering. The water does not go to the ice-maker or thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.

My lady friend has the same problem with her ice maker. The problem is, the ice tray is broken on the end. I took her ice maker out and found out it was broken. Its going to be hard finding a replacement since they don't make parts anymore.

Good Luck !!!

SOURCE: frigidaire not dumping the ice

Hi: Dumping the ice is the start of the ice making timer. Before you replace the ice maker... Set the freezer one setting colder. The ice maker wont make ice if the freezer is not at zero degrees F. Just because things are frozen in it dosn't mean it is at zero. This happens a lot in the summertime. After resetting the temp don't open the door every hour to see if it makes ice as you will just dump the cold air out. Listen for the ice to dump, give it 24hrs. I hope this helps, Jeff

LG French Door Refrigerator Error Code 15

My problem was similar to yours and my lg refrigerator model number is: LMXS30776D/02, I followed the steps like you with no luck. I just fixed mine last night and it's a pleasure for me to share with you my experience. As I was trying to figure out what was wrong with my fridge, as I was shaking and lifting the left front door of my fridge I noticed that the error code E: 15 disappear on the display. As we open the door back and forth for normal use,the error E: 15 comes back again. From that,I realized something wrong with the left front door of the fridge. I ordered a new left door, It came in yesterday, I installed it last night and everything works beautifully in my fridge, no more code what so ever. as a result, if you are experiencing the same problem, most likely you need to think replacing the left door of the fridge.
Let me know if this help.
Thank you.

Hi. You answered a question about a "sizzle" noise coming from the freezer of a GE Profile side-by-side. Your answer was "The sizzling in your case means that it is working....it is just...

the defrost cycle happens 1-2 times in 24 hours usually, and lasts 20-30 minutes.at which time the cooling process starts again.you may or may not hear the sizzle during the 20-30 minutes.if the frezer-freezes and the fresh food section is cold enough its probably o.k.

My Maytag refrigerator makes a loud popping noise. It woke me up at 1 am. Refridgerator is 10 years old no ice maker. The sound is pretty loud. Is this a bad sign? Is there any danger here? Should I be...

the popping noise you're talking about, could it just be your self-defroster in operation, sometimes if there a lot of ice and it operates a long time, there could be expansion noises, such as the refrigerator walls expanding/contracting from the heat of the defroster,if it's water you will hear a sizzling popping sound, nothing to fear dear
