You would input to the aux input on the sound bar from the line out on the tv if it has one. Save your ears and keep the levels low until all works.

Most HDTV's do not have an "Audio Out" connection, because they're usually not the thing producing the sound. You probably have a cable box and/or a DVD or blu-ray player, which is then plugged into the TV. You need to keep the video part of that plugged in, but unplug the audio and plug it into your soundbar instead. You will probably need some form of adapter, though I don't want to go into that too much without knowing what your setup is.
