Our lg fridge keeps beeping but doors are closed. Now it's freezing items in the refrigerator.

  • Max Muller Feb 01, 2021

Your refrigerator is clearly in need of a good refrigerant. I had a similar situation, and I couldn't figure out what was going on with the refrigerator for about a week.
My father works in this field and he fortunately helped me by sharing information about what to do if the fridge not cooling and I took advantage of it. My wife laughed at the fact that it was the first time I had done anything in the house with my own hands without calling any services of masters and so on. ( I didn't do it just because it was during the pandemic when it was banned, haha )
By the way, I read that LG refrigerators often have such a problem, did they start making low-quality refrigerators? I hope I'm wrong

Usually, the beeping will mean that the fridge thinks the door is open. You did not give a model # so I do not know if it is a side x side, top freezer or bottom freezer.

The evaporator fan is wired through the light switch so if the door is open, or there is a problem with the switch, then the fan will not circulate air and typically things will start to freeze toward the bottom but be warmer at the top.

The first thing I would check is to make sure that the top door hinge covers are securely in place and that the switches close when the door does. Sometimes it is a mechanical switch while others use a magnet. Look for something like this on the top of the fridge just on top of the hinge. Post more details if more assistance is needed.

SOURCE: Fridge/freezer beeping

There is a lever switch usually above the door (when door is in open position) on the fridge cabinet. Not on the actual door. The beeping should stop if this lever is pressed. If the door is positioned correctly it would depress this lever when closed. It may be that the door adjustment is slightly out. If the beeping does not stop when depressed, then your printed circuit board (located usually above the door) is faulty and needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: Hello i have an lg refrigerator GR-620RW which

LG 620 RW water in fridge below crisper problem.
The issue is most likely a blocked condensate drain line at the back of the freezer. The purpose of the drain line is to take away the water from the end of the defrost cycle.
Task time, approx 2 hours.
Unplug fridge.
Empty out the fridge, let warm up & remove the back panel of the freezer. There is a 3" x 4" snap in door at the upper left corner of the back panel with a round snap in cover. Remove the snap in cover & remove the screw to take out the 3" X 4" panel, gently pull out the back panel from left to right. There is also an elect connector to the fan on the upper right corner, unclip this. The drain is at the back in the centre, it will likley be blocked with 2 or 3" of ice. You can let it melt or sparingly use a hair dryer on it, do not over heat or damage the coil/fin assembly. The fridge will continue to drip water for a day after the drain is cleared if the water has rin inside of it for any period of time.
There is also a fan/control assembly in the refrigerator section held up by 2 screws & snaps. This should be dropped down to ensure there is not ice buildup in the vents to the freezer or water inside it.
Finally, make sure you run warm water down the freezer drain tube to the pan underneath the fridge, this is accessible by taking of the rear compresser cover behine the frigde. Ensure the lower drain line is clear & back on the locater peg.
Of course if you want to do this the easy, & have the time, leave the fridge open, unplugged for 2-3 days & the ice will all melt.

Good Luck

Why does it keep beeping even though the doors are closed?

  1. Check to see if the fridge and the freezer are overfilled Over-stuffing in the freezer or the fridge or both of these compartments will prevent the doors from closing properly and which can cause the fridge's to set off the beeping alarm.
  2. Check the fridge door seals: Broken or damaged door seals may stop the fridge from closing all the way. This can also happen if the seals are dirty. Wipe clean the door seals with a soft cloth and warm and use soapy water and close the fridge doors. If the door still appears ajar then you have to replace the door seals. It is also quite possible that the inbuilt door-alarm which sets off if the fridge door is ajar for more than a few minutes has gone bad . This would need to be looked at by a qualified repair person . Until, you can call a repair person transfer all the food items to another cool place.
  3. Check the fridge balance: To work correctly the fridge must be placed on a levelled surface. Even a slight tilt in the fridge structure can set off the beeping alarm. Check to see if the fridge is balanced evenly.
  4. Check to see if the fridge exterior is warmer than usual: Check if there is adequate distance between the fridge and walls to allow for proper ventilation. If you have already ensured this and the fridge exterior still appears warmer than usual, have an appliance engineer to take look at the problem. If the beeping continues, switch-off the fridge.
  5. Check the freezer: If your fridge does not have an auto-defrost function then excessive ice-build up in the freezer can cause the beeping alarm to go off . If you see a lot of ice build-up in the icebox or freezer, switch off the fridge and let the ice thaw. Once the fridge is thawed, the beeping should stop.
  6. Have a repair person check the circuit board: It is possible that there is an issue with the appliance's circuit board. If so it will most likely need replacement.

Fisher and packel active smart is beeping when door is closed and is now defrosting the freezer and freezing foods at back of fridge... How do I fix this?

It is evidently not out of refrigerant then. It will beep at you to advise that it was set to bottle chill and time is up, or that either door was left a bit open.

Also make sure the slot at the upper back of the fridge compartment is not blocked with items. That has to be left clear as it is where the cold air comes out to circulate.

Try turning it off for 30 min and then back on.

If the condition persists you will have to call F&P service. Take note of just when it beeps and the exact number of beeps. They may want to know this.

Lg lrfd218855st water does not come out and display shows all 8's

Top Reasons Fridge Freezes Food Refrigerator Troubleshooting
There are several reasons for overcooling in the refrigerator section....as outlined in the link. Your additional symptoms of all the display lights going on so it looks like "88 88" and non operable water might point to the less usual control board causing the problem. The beeping usually means the door has not closed/sealed. Just maybe that is the issue ... which could be a bad door switch. With the door open ... find the switch (near the door frame, hinge side, usually toward the middle/top. Make sure that pressing it in turns the lights off...if the lights stay on that might be the problem. Check the freezer door switch too.
Sorry to not be able to pinpoint your issue better ... I have not seen this combo of symptoms before.
