I have a Mitsubishi Tv HD 1080 # WT 46807 given to me. I hooked up a DVD player to it and played and movie.. Left the tv on for around 12hr come home tured it off and then someone else tried to turn it on about 15 mins later. It started with volume turned all the way up and none of the button worked. And said on screen"Lost power reset clock" but wont do anything else. After pushing input and menu it blinks one green then 2 green. Anyone have any idea if i should continue to try to keep it and fix it or if i should think of it as the biggest paperweight in the house till i can get the heavy thing out.

It might help to unplug the TV from the AC outlet for a few minutes, and hope that it's circuit resets itself.

Your Power supply will most likely have to be replaced. Very common, the capacitor's inside these units due tend to get overheated and burn out. You can test power coming from the power supply with a voltmeter

SOURCE: Mitsubishi model Wt-46807 Power shuts

hi,
Error code 2-2 indicates "Short Protect Circuit" problem in tv.
Need to check pico fuses in power supply as one or two got blown due to bad convergence chips.
Below is an exploded view of tv chassis, power supply and convergence area has been marked to give you better idea to look for pico fuses.
Unplug tv from wall socket before to repair/check any thing inside tv.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Does the Mitsubishi WT-46807 need a converter box to receive a HD signal?

Yes, this model only has one HD input--it is the one marked on the back of the set as DTV---you need to hook a box for HD to that input.

Mine wont play anything a DVD it recorded it wont let me finalize

Today with HD High Definition TV these kind of problems appears because the new dvd players have more video resolution options, so, for playing all variety of dvd, and home done dvs,s (like family movies on dvd) you need set up your resolution video on your DVD player at 480i or 480p option, not higher because some DVD movies (mainly oldies) have lower resolution than newer , for example new movies on HD format have 1080 P resolution, and if you have this option chosen in your DVD player you only can see this kind of videos, on the other hand if you have chosen 480i or 480 p on your dvd player , you can play all dvd formats including home movies made with any movie software, in this way you can play dvd-r and +r movies and of cours you can play HD movies also. So put some dvd where your dvd player works well (you need see the dvd menu in the tv screen), then press stop. Then press setup in your remote control, go to video resolution and choose 480 I or 480p, then press ok AND ENJOY THE MOVIE.

Converting up to 1080

Hello. You have to use the HDMI port and connect to the HDMI, or DVI, port on the back of the TV to get 1080. Even if playing HDDVD, this cable is necessary to get the increase. That, and the TV has to be in 1080 too. If you look at the display, on the front of the player, while watching the DVD, it will tell you at what resolution the DVD is playing. The HDMI to HDMI/DVI must be installed to get the increase in resolution. I have a Panasonic HD 34" 1080i widescreen TV, with DVI connection. When connected, the player played my DVD's at 1080i on my TV, while at only 480i thru the composite cables.

On some older movies or series(I like Star Trek- TNG), it doesn't work well due to the transfer to the DVD. Most newer DVD's, such as Batman Begins (there is an HD out, but I have DVD only), improved on the upconvert for me nicely.

I say that because that has been the problem with mine,
except it was the red.  it happened in 2000 when I bought the tv
and just now.  its going to cost me about 400.00 to have someone fix it.  I'm getting it fixed because it's been good to me. I watch dvd's vhs's and laser disks and feel it has plenty of life in it.

good luck
