Will a Technics SL-HD515 CD player work in a Technics SL-HD55 system? My SL-HD55 CD separate is broken and it’s the only potential replacement I have seen.

Hi. I’m in the UK and I’ve already tried to have it repaired here. The part it needs is out of production and there were none available on eBay. I can’t remember which part however. I’m happy to replace it and just need to know if the models are compatible. Do you know if they are?

This maybe due to overheating of some Sort.
Try taking it out of where it is where theres a good flow of air.
Then try running a cd.
Try Putting in a Cleaning cd, this maybe a fault with the laser.

a) the current CD in use is in slot 23
b) behind slot 23 is a CD left inside

SOURCE: dont know how to connect everything so it all works

you need a small mixer from radio shack near you.
1-connect cd player to channel 1 in mixer.
2-connect tape to channel 2 in mixer.
3-connect mixer out to equalizer in.
4-connect equalizer out to amp in.

assuming that you have the correct size belt, remove the platter and place the belt onto the platter (bottom side). Replace the platter and using a pencil, grab the belt and place it around the motor hub. The slot in the platter should give you enough room to do this. Dan

Hi Asad, I'm sorry to tell you that SL dv280 and SL dv290 are not compatible, they have the same connector, but different signal configuration
Do not try to test, because you could damage the devices
To work well, you must replace all of the devices with those of line 290

What size o ring can I use to replace belt on my technics sl-mc6 CD changer

Save yourself $$$. Go to Ace hardware and get an O ring for 50 cents nstead of the $10 plus $3 shipping some websites want. 1 and 1/16 size. Have replaced these on a couple of technics SL MC models and works like a charm. No more error codes.

Hi Robert,
probably the cd tray belt (a tiny black rubber belt that connect the tray rack with motor gear) is broken, check this by opening the player, if torn you need to buy a new spare and replace it.

Technics SC-CA 1080 CD player jumps ,can I just buy any CD player separate and connect it to my technics? It's a separates 'style' system, not sure if its compatible with a different CD player

You have tried cleaning the lens? That might cure the jumps. Make certain your CD's are not scratched and clean too.

A separate CD player will work with your system, I think. It looks like the current CD player will connect via two phono plugs to the back of the system. Since the new CD player will have the same type, just remove the old connections and the power lead and plug the new CD player in the same phono sockets. As the new separate CD player will have it's own power supply it will not need the old one.
No further adjustments are needed. Any brand of CD player can be purchased.
