Use a coat hanger or something small enough to poke threw the holes to unclog. What ever pushes out the clog MAY come back to re-stop the holes. In this case special effort will be needed to take off the spray arm and cleaned

Richard, There should be a spin nut just above the spray arm that attaches to the spray arm hose. Unscrew this and it should come off. Catriver...post back.

SOURCE: dishwasher pump will drain but not force water into spray arms

If the washer is not used regularly the shaft can stick to the seals and prevent the motor from spinning. This happens quite regularly for me if I don't use the washer often. You can just take off the bottom panel - after shutting off power to the dishwasher - and access the motor. you should see some fins and then just try to spin the motor by hand. It usually takes about 90 degrees of rotation before the motor breaks free from the seal. You'll have to fight through the spring-like resistance created by the seal-shaft adhesion. After it breaks free the motor spins freely and you should be all set to go. I haven't found a more permanent fix for this other than running the dishwasher more regularly.

SOURCE: Frigidaire Dishwasher - Spray Arm Not Working

When a dishwasher has been checked for obstructions in the sump area and the spray arms can spin easily (by hand) plus the spray arm holes are not blocked, you end up with either a broken impeller or a failing wash pump motor.

If you would like more details of have more questions, please post comment back here, OK?

Good Luck!

SOURCE: spray arms clogged

Top: Remove the upper tray by releasing the clips on the ends of the runners. (Squeeze the top of the clip and pull upwards). Remove the spray arm by holding the round plastic clip that holds the arm and turning the arm. It will unscrew.

Bottom: Grab spray arm in centre and pull sharply upwards to unclip.

Wash in warm water and solvent-free detergent.

SOURCE: middle spray arm clogged

no it cant to clean a dishwasher good the best thing you can do is run lemeshine often found at a publix or wallmart in the dishwasher detergant isles . if you try to sepperate the arms ther is a very good chance you will break the water tight seal and it cannot be fixed without replacement.

Aeg oko favorit 50500w water not coming in through spray arms

There are several reasons if spray arms doesn't spray water. First you need to check efficiency of circulation pump. If it works, then should check the turbine of circulation pump. Sometimes turbine blades can be broken and the pump does not produce enough pressure to turn the spray arms. Be sure to check that the filter is not clogged which can also causes same problem. Finally, check that the nozzles of spray arms are not clogged.
So, could be:
- motor circulation pump
- circulation pump
- filter
- spray arms
- electronic or power board

Water not pumping out spray arms.

clog in the arm. It should spin due to water flow.

Remove the arm. Usually a tow part arm (top and bottom). Or a central screw with cover plate.

Look for a clog and remove.

If a central arm in the middle of the machine the clog can be in the pipe supplying the water. Again take apart and look for a clog.

They are not belt or gear driven. Simple water driven parts only. If the water is flowing and not leaking under the machine you should be OK with a simple clog somewhere.

The top rack is not cleaning. When I've run a test, it seems like the top "arm" is not turning or spraying water.

Check the spray arm opening/holes for clogging with debris. If clogged, remove the debris from the holes. Then position the spray arm in a certain position and operate the dishwasher for a minute and stop and check the position of the spray arm. If in the same position, then the arm may not be receiving water from the water pump and/or upper water inlet housing/tubing. Contact an appliance service company.

Dishwasher-bottom arm not spraying

The spray arms can usually be removed by unscrewing (clockwise or counter clockwise depending on brand and model), or squeezing a retainer to release the arm. Before removing the spray arm, place the spray arms (all) in a specific position and activate the dishwasher for a few seconds with wash action. Then examine the position of the spray arms to determine if there was movement from the spray arms. If not, then the spray arm(s) are probably clogged and restricting water flow (which makes them turn). Make certain that you are positioning the plates, glasses, etc. in the dishwasher so that they have access to the water. If still no luck, contact an appliance service company.

Top rack not cleaning properly, not sure if top spay arm is working ?

Ensure that the spray arm is movable. Inspect the spray holes in the top spray arm. If clogged, clean the openings. If no clog, position the spray arm in a certain position (e.g.: arms facing front and back). Then activate the dishwasher for a minute or so and open the door to determine if the spray arm has moved. If not, there may be an issue with the water feeding to the spray arm (typically via the water pump, etc.).

Top arm not spinning

only the top rack isnt getting clean?
there is a little plastic circle in the middle of the bottom of the upper spray arm. turn it counter clock wise to pull the upper spray arm from the upper rack. make sure that isnt clogged and the spray holes are not clogged. otherwise....

the piece that the bottem spray arm plugs into and runs along the back wall of the tank to the top is called a feed tube. pull the bottom spray arm out. now you can see the part of the feed tube that feeds the upper spray arm water. does it pop out freely and easily? if so then you need a new feed tube, if not then its most likely your not achieving the right water level or your impeller connected to your circulation pump(motor) is clogged not supplying enough water pressure to travel up the feed tube to spin the upper spray arm.

the tube feeding the top spray arm may be clogged. The top srpay arm seal may be defective as well.
