Sump jet water will not shut off completely. If I turn the main valve off it will shut off completely. Then it is ready to pump again. Took completely apart and no obstructions. Any ideas?

I DON'T KNOW. MY GUESS IS THE CURE WILL BE IN THE OFF/ON SWITCH. MIGHT BE A PRESSURE SWITCH, A FLOAT SWITCH OR ??. OWNER'S MANUAL MAY IDENTIFY SWITCH AND LOCATION.

SOURCE: New water ace sump pump will run but willnot shut off

The higher you pump the water, the stronger your pump needs to be, or the skinnier your hose needs to be. A lower discharge point and / or a smaller diameter hose might help immensely.

SOURCE: Dishwasher not draining water

I had the same problem....removed hoses, checked for cloggs the hole nine yards.....Inside of the unit towards the back in the bottom is a filter cover and in the middle is a valve that you just screw out. It has a rubber stopper that overtime breaks down....I was able to pick up the part locally for about $17CDN, replaced the part and the unit drains properly now.....now I have an issue with no power

SOURCE: sump pump float adjustment

This really depends entirely on you. the higher the water level the less frequently it will run. most motors use more power to start than they do to run so starting less should save you money.

SOURCE: why wont my Jet pump shut off?

Is the little pipe that connects to the pressure switch clear?

I suggest you remove it and blow through it to make sure it is clear. If the pressure is getting to the switch, it has to shut off ... your switch should be set around 30/50 (on at 30 - off at 50)

I have a Scotsman CME 506 ice maker. After running a cleaning cycle it won't run. After resetting the freeze light blinks and nothing happens. The water inlet valve never opens (the sump is current

CM3 Operational Sequence.
From Off, push and release the freeze button.
1. If sump is full, water pump starts. If sump is not full, water valve opens to fill it.
2. Compressor starts when sump is full.Air cooled fan motor starts too.
3. water pump stops early in freeze cycle for 30 seconds.
4. Sump refills after pump starts.
5. In low ambient condition, fan motor may begin to cycle on and off.
6. Freeze continues until water level in sump drops to preset point. Exceptions: SCE275 must fill sump two more times.
7. Fan may shut off before the end of freeze.
8. Harvest begins. Hot gas valve opens, pump stops.
9. Pump restarts, inlet water valve opens to fill and overflow the reservoir.
10. Harvest continues for preset first cycle harvest time.
11. If bin is not full, cycle repeats ( compressor stays on). If bin is full, unit shuts off at the end of harvest.
OK with that out of the way unless you unplugged any wires cleaning the machine should not have caused any problems. First cut off water and pull water supply line from water inlet valve look in the end of valve there is a screen in there it could be stopped up. If the valve screen is not stopped up then put supply water line back on and turn water back on. power the CM3 controller off. push freeze button. now with a voltage meter check at the water inlet valve to make sure you are getting power to the valve. If you are then either valve is stopped up or valve is bad. If you are not getting power to valve then replace the CM3 controller now make sure the bin full light is not on because if it is this will not let controller go back to a freeze cycle.

Sump pump

I am presuming you're asking about a basement sump pump, the kind that keeps your basement dry. Well, those things are not meant to run all the time. They are usually triggered by a float valve. That is a device that moves according to the water level in the sump (in other words, the hole). When the water gets high enough, the float activates a switch, the pump kicks in, the water is flushed away, the float falls and that turns the pump off until the cycle starts all over again. The frequency of the cycle depends on how fast the sump fills itself. I have one that kicks in five times a minute. Another might have a much longer off time. But don't be worrying about yours not being on all the time... that is how they are supposed to behave. Of course, if you have water flowing out the top of the sump, that is a sign things are not right with the pump. Then you really need help.

What setting do you put it on to drain the pool for plaster repair

There is usually a setting on the handle that says "Drain" but if not you can always use the Backwash setting to get all the water out of the pool or at least most of it.

;turn coleman hottub on - flashes "pr" for a few min. then it shuts off

Hi,
If your Coleman has Balboa electronics 'PR' is to notify you that it is in priming mode.
It could also be your pressure switch. On most tubs the pressure is mounted on the heater. If this switch is not reading correctly it could shut the spa down to prevent heater overheating.

The pump has gotten where it pumps a few seconds and stops ,I thought maybe it's low on oil

Most sump pumps are sealed so they have no way to add oil. I would see if your pump discharge line has a check valve installed in it.It should have a check valve installed so that waste can only flow away from pump.Otherwise the pump can cycle for a short period, shut off and have water in vertical pipe flow back into sump basin causing pump to cycle again. Also if your pump does have a check valve in it make sure that it doesn't have anything caught in it that would stop it from closing completely. Some pumps have a check valve installed on the pump. It is also possible that you may have something caught in the pump impeller. you will need to remove pump to inspect the impeller. Hope this helps you. Thanks

Maytag jet clean dishwasher model# dwc7400aaw

Normally when you have low water pressure and/or cleaning issues, this an indication of a clog in your main wash pump. You will need to remove the lower spray arm and the coarse screen to get to the main wash pump sump. Inspect the impeller area of the pump. This area is usually where accumulations of debris collect and keep the pump from pulling enough water. Things like orange seeds, lemon seeds, bottle cap liners, chicken bones, and jar labels are just a few of the items I have personally found. Although, dishwashers do a good job at removing most food particles, they are not garbage disposals. I bet you will find a clog in the sump somewhere. Let me know if this helps.

Indesit dishwasher sump keeps filling up with water when turned on

I had a similar problem every time i bailed the sump out by hand and turned the machine back on it would fill the sump or just shut off.

Having spent ages checking various site it boiled down to one of three things there is a thermostat switch underneath they are know to go on the indesits and cost next to nothing to replace

second cause and most probable is to take machine outside before you do this front cover below front door removes to give access to pump you ll know it the pump because it has a pipe rinning into it and one out on my indesit i turned it upside down and got really easy access to it comes of easily take it to pices bit by bit really easy probably need small allun key depends on model check put for foreign objects , spinx blackpool rock etec etc only kidding it might be a bit of plastic or something that stop the spindle turning freely inside the pump if you find anything clean put back and off you go if pump is knackered you can get them off the web for 4.95
last but not least is the problem that mine actually had in the end and the easiest to fix `water pressure` if there is insufficient water pressure the machine regognised this and activate a shut off valve the machine lights flash you can reset the programme but it still does nt work. take the water pipe off the back put it into a bucket and open the valve you ll now what good pressure looks like mine was poor when i took the adjacent kitchen unit out it transpired a shut off vavle had been placed on the pipework the vavle had never been opened fully by the plumber and was restricting the water supply . take your time dont rush and be methodical take advantage of a local parts supplier ash them what most repairers will do first. it can be very rewarding to find that a/ you can do it and b/youve saved 60 or 70 quid in the process.

ps never mess with the machine whilst connected to the mains or spiky hair might come free with the repair and do take the machine outside or you ll have water evrywhere trust me
