SOURCE: manual for husky air compressor ''easy to go''

For what it's worth Compressors are intended to be turned on and forgot (except for the noise). just for grins lets assume you have the stapler and air hose. you need to hook up the air hose to the compressor there usually is one or to either couplers or npt fittings (threaded). attach the hose to the compressor and using a quick coupler (prefered because it allows the gun to swivel) connect the gun to the hose. turn on the compressor and wait for it to build up pressure and *******. at this point you will need to locate the regulator on the compressor. it will be a knob next to one or two dial gages. crank the regulator a quarter turn either direction while watching the gages. It (one of them) moved either up or down . now you know how the regulator works and your almost a contractor. on to the stapler, load it and find a bit of scrap (what your working on would be best.) now shoot a staple into something and see if it goes in far enough or to far. adjust the regulator to compensate. do this until one of three things happens A you find the right staple depth B the compressor kicks on again, wait for it to turn off C you run out of nails, beer or intrest in the project. once you have found the correct pressure for your needs. you may fire at will you don't need to wait for the compressor to cycle while running the stapler just during set up. now your a contractor go have a beer.

just a last tip if you find you don't have the correct couplers home depot, harbor freight or amazon (online) are great sources for parts.

good luck and mind your fingers
Rob

SOURCE: husky air compressor/1.5 hp

Compressors pull a lot of juice that is why they come with a large power cord. If you use a small extension cord with it it will easily pop a breaker. So first check all your breakers. Second thing is check your manual to see if you have a reset switch on you compressor, as most do. It should be a small, red switch (rocker or push button type), located between the pump motor and compressor switch. The third is a long shot, check to see if the bleeder valve is functioning correctly. It will be the small copper tube running from the pump to the switch. Just make sure the small lever is free to move.

If this fails to resolve the problem then it is probably the main switch itself. That is a warranty issue. If it's out of warranty then your going to have to either repair or replace the switch yourself. Please feel free to ask for help if you need it in latter case.

SOURCE: I need a new belt for my Husky air compressor but I don't know

You may be able to find the belt you need on ebay. There is a seller named "Footballcardcellar" who lists these often and they are alot cheaper than buying the kit from Husky. Just search "Air compressor belt husky"

SOURCE: I have a husky air compressor model WL651004AJ

You can inspect the check valve by removing it and pulling on the small plastic pin sticking out of the middle of the tank side. It should spring back under fairly light tension. Also visually inspect and clean out with a dry q-tip the brass screen on the inlet site. Seal back with ribbon dope.

If this looks ok, remove the 4 bolts holding the head on. Keep all of the sandwiched plates together in order so they go back in easliy. The cylinder sleeve will come off with this stack. Look at the plastic surround on the piston and the inside of the cylinder. In my case, this was eaten up from too many hot summers and cold winters in the garage. The rubber/plastic had hardened and eaten part of itself away. To replace the entire piston assembly on the WL651004AJ, you'll need to get part number WL211000AJ, which in some books is superseded by WL211000SJ.
If the cylinder is scored (meaning that by scraping your fingernail against the lines in it, you catch the nail) then you're probably better off replacing the whole cylinder unit.

Husky Compressor Model WL660800AJ, S/N L8/4/04-00830 started, filled tank, cut off and now will not restart. I turned the reset switch to off overnight, but still will not start this morning. Power is...

All electric motor compressors have a reset switch somewhere on them, usually on the motor itself. Look for a small, usually white button, sometimes with a number on it. If its tripped the button will stick out, push it in to reset it.

Air compressors need a fair amount of amps to run and the requirement rises as the tank fill because the motor is working against the pressure in the tank. A rule of thumb is: always run longer air lines, NEVER use extension cords. If it is absolutely necessary to run an extension cord, make sure it's a 12 guage cord or larger, no more than 50 feet long.

I have a husky jump start / compressor station model HSK03 Everything was working fine, but now the compressor stopped working. Is there a reset button or curcuit breaker? Thank you

The model that I looked at on the internet has a high temperature switch that will not let the compressor run if it gets hot (about 15 minutes of operation).
It will cool down in 10 minutes and allow the compressor to run again.
This MAY be the problem.

Husky comp on 1st start builds up 75 lbs and wont restart

Check the reset button on the motor to see if it tripped. The motor may be overheating. Some motors have an internal breaker and they have to cool off before they restart. Also check the pressure switch. Move the switch back and forth ( on and off ) and listen for a click. If it doesn't click with low to no air pressure then the switch is bad.
