Model ED22LF Both sides and completely stopped working Is there a reset on it if so how to check No power seem to be going to compressor no interior blower is working any ideas

If its not cooling or freezing then the compressor has to be checked.The compressor is the part which controls the cooling and freezing in the refrigerator.If the gas / refrigerant in the compressor gets low/ less then compressor will run more but it will not cool due to less refrigerant in compressor.In that case the compressor needs to be replaced. -------------- Also it can be faulty defrost assembly parts causing this issue.The thermostat is got faulty or the heater is not turning off.This also causes every thing to get defrosted.

The defrost assembly consists of three main parts. The defrost thermostat, the defrost heater and defrost board. Any of the one is not functioning. When thermostat sense the maximum cooling, it triggers the defrost heater to start heating and this defrosts the ice collected on the coils and the system works. Both thermostat and heater are controlled by defrost board. First the thermostat and defrost heater to be checked, if both check ok by meter and visually, then its defrost board causing the problem. Before that you can try manual defrost reset procedure. The manual defrost reset procedure is as follows : ----First unplug the unit from main power outlet. Then empty whole unit completely. Then keep both the doors open. Wait for 24 hours. All the ice collected on the coils and in the freezer section will get melted. Clean the water from the sections. Then Connect the power cord of the unit to main power outlet after 24 hours/.Then set the temperature to normal in both fridge and freezer section. It will take near to 4 hours to get run in its proper cooling cycle. Then check, if the problem returns again.Then go for replacing the parts.-------------------This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.

• possible causes:

1. bad defrost timer
2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
3. bad thermo switch in freezer

If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items. If it still has a problem then it might be the compressor and you should probably replace the machine.

Is the refrigerator still trying to cool as in is the motor still humming? Since many things go wrong, you are going to have to check to see what is still working so that we can narrow it down. This is the first thing that you need to check. Turn it on the coldest setting and see if the motor/pump is still running. Please let me know what you find

If there is nothing operating but the lights you are going to need the board linked below which is for your model.

Main board

First, check to see if the light comes on or if there is any fan, motor, or other sound coming from the appliance? If so, the refrigerator isn't really completely stopped--go to the specific problem you are having. If not, try adjusting the thermostat to a colder setting. If that doesn't work, read on.

Second, check to see if there is power getting to the refrigerator. To do that, plug a lamp or other device into the same outlet the refrigerator is plugged into. If there's no power, check the fuses or circuit breakers. If the fuses or breakers aren't the problem, contact a qualified electrician to restore power to the outlet. If there is power to the appliance but it still seems to be stopped, there may be a problem in one or more of these:

Wiring Thermostat Defrost timer Compressor Overload and/or relay

Tom, I would start with the overload and relay that is on the compressor, If it is white it's a good possibility that it has failed. The fact that both sides are not cooling leaves me to believe the compressor is not operating. Take the overload and relay off. If they are both contained in a white cover shake it. If it rattles, I believe that is your problem. Let me know what you find...Catriver.
