Ok, so it's posting which means that the startup systems are working but the OS isn't taking the hand-off. Check for a tiny reset button on the back and if it's there try pressing it for a few seconds to see if that helps.
Now having said that, since it is a medical device, I strongly recommend contacting the customer service line of the company that makes it if the reset isn't an option.

SOURCE: computer monitor goes blank after initial start-up reaches the desktop

Try setting your graphics card output to something simpler like a basic 640x480 resolution 64k colours and see if it still does it... it maybe that you have the resolution/colour depth to high for the monitor to properly handle

if it is stable at the lower setting slowly increase untill you reach a point that you and your monitor are both happy

SOURCE: Frigidaire gas range error message....F1

Here is some wisdom for understanding F1 fault codes.

In some models, there are subcodes that make diagnosis even easier.

Here's a simple explanation of what's going on and how to troubleshoot:

The F1 code indicates that:

a. The electronic range control (ERC) is sensing heat in the oven when in a time-of-day (i.e., not cooking) mode.

b. The ERC is receiving information to run multiple heat functions simultaneously.

Although different components (depending upon the model) could generate the code, simple and straightforward testing using your ohm meter is all you gotta do to test for it.

1. Check the oven temperature sensor. The oven sensor has to be within spec or it will cause the F1 code.
As an example of being out-of-spec, the ERC will generate an F1 fault code when the sensor shows 1650 ohms during a time-of-day mode.
This is equivalent to 350°F in the oven.
The resistance isn't high enough to generate an F2 code (runaway temp) or an F3 or F4 code (shorted/open sensor circuit).
The ERC monitors the sensor circuit after a heat cycle and expects the resistance to drop back to 1050-1100 ohms.
The fault code is generated when this doesn't happen. Checking the sensor circuit means also checking the harness,
harness connections and the sensor itself.

2. If the oven sensor circuit checks okay, then turn your inquisitive eyeballs to the touchpad.
If the range has a separate touchpad/keyboard, the keypad may have moisture that is shorting several circuits simultaneously.
If the F1 code is given immediately (instead of during or after a heat cycle),
remove the ribbon connector from the touchpad to the ERC after clearing the F1 code. If the F1 code does not return in five minutes,
then cast a suspicious gaze upon the touchpad/keyboard. Shorts may be caused by using an ammonia-based glass cleaner.
The touchpad surface will absorb ammonia-based cleaners that are sprayed directly on the glass surface. When heat is applied,
the surface material can break down causing shorts.
If you're gonna use ammonia-based cleaners on your control panel, then you should spray it on the rag and then wipe the touchpanel
-don't spray directly onto the surface of the touchpad.

3. On Amana ranges with a rotary temperature dial, be sure that the knob is in the OFF position when performing tests.

4. If these tests all check good, then replace the ERC.

Always read no paper

it could be the size of the paper that is selected in the print properties, or the sensor is failing in which case you will need to take it back to manufacture.

When I boot my acer aspire one, all I see is the windows xp logo as if it is trying to load but this just stays on and the system does not load, can you help please

Try and boot into safe mode. Turn off the computer first.

When the computer starts to load you should see the Dell splash screen first before the XP screen. When you see the Dell screen repeatedly tap the F8 key until you are presented a menu. From that menu you should select Safemode with networking. You will be followed with which operating system to run (XP in your case) then you will see all the drivers scrolling up the screen as they are loaded and if all goes well you should come up to your desktop. A popup window will ask you if you want to continue in safemode and YES is what you select.

From there you should be able to get to system restore to fix the startup issue.

If you are unable to get into the safemode please let me know so we can figure out your dilemma

I have a Dell Inspiron/E1505. when i turn on my computer i can barely see my screen and it says Presentation Mode is turned off. how do i turn it on?

To turn presentation mode on follow this:
  1. Open Dell Quick Set
  2. Click on Display Settings
  3. Check the box that says Activate Presentation Mode
But I don't think that will make your screen brighter, if its still dark then look for the function hot key to turn up the brightness on your screen. Its usually something like - hold the "fn" key and press the up arrow several times.

Laptop screen

Try turning the brightness up. You can usually do this by holding down the blue "Fn" key, and then hitting the key (usually the F8 or 8 key) with the blue "brighter sun" on it.
