Fortunately your phones is not in locked state, if your phone in lock state you must unlock blackberry curve 8520 by typing any password 10 times, it will erase all your data and after your blackberry unlocked you.can setup new password again. But if your A button still didn't work, it seems you have hardware problem and you must bring that blackberry phone to your nearest local phone repair shop.
Go to a mobile Repairing Shop end give that there and ask for unlocking it...all your data will be erased but if you don't want lose your data...than make a copy of your data on the PC using mobile usb. then they will Unlock your card and it will be empty...so add your copied data to it..
