1. go out to your fuse box and turn off then on the two breakers for the dryer that are barred together. Your only getting 110 volts not the full 220 volts.
2. check wall plug unplug and plug back in
3. mSpin the timer around back to start point.
Hope this helps Mike

SOURCE: Kenmore 70 Series Dryer

The fuse probably blew due to a blockage of some sort. Check your ventpipe. It may be full of lint. The fuse is a small white part held onto the blower housing with 1 screw. It usually can be found under the dust cover on the rear of the dryer.84a81ce.jpg It has 2 small wires hooked to it and it is wired in series with the door switch. When the lint gets built up and dryer over heats and fuse blows. The result is just as if you opened the door.1d45fbe.jpg

SOURCE: kenmore dryer hums/heats up, but drum does not spin!

Depending on the type of door the dryer has, is how you approach the access of these dryers. Mostly though you yank out the filter first.Remove the 2 screws in the filter housing on top. Then use a putty knife to pop the top. Remove the screws holding the front panel on. VERY IMPORTANT! Raise the front up an inch before pulling forward or the panel clips will break! Some models have a panel on bottom. If they do then this panel must come off first. Then you remove the door springs and back off the screws holding down the bottom of the door panel. Then pop the top and remove the screws on top to get the panel out of your way. Yank out the tub. Clean the junk out (send me the coinery) oil the wheels and Idler with temp resistant zoomoil from ace hardware. Use this guide to replace dat belt Kimosabe:

SOURCE: Dryer Won't Start

Make sure it has power. Then:Check the door switch. A little lever sticking down through top right of door opening. If it is not there you will need new door switch(sometimes the little lever breaks off). If it is there and does not click when you press it in you need a new door switch. if it clicks when you close the door then you have a bad thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is found by taking the back of the dryer off. The fuse is an oblong white plastic piece with 2 wires attached.

Thermal fuse part number 3392519

SOURCE: I have a kenmore 70 series electric dryer. The

There is a circuit board that is in the control panel. It is mounted into a plastic carrier that is skrewed into the panel. You could pull it straight out and check it with a multimeter to see if there is continuty, check the two blue resisters and if no continuty, replace!

Have a 90 series kenmore dryer, won't always run. replaced the motor about 6 months ago, and now it will sometimes run, sometimes not. It gets hot, and will run for a bit then shut down, then start up...

If the timer is not advancing but is ticking that could be the problem. A dryer achieves a set temperature and stays there for a certain amount of time during a cycle. If the time never changes it may just keep heating up until the heat sensor shuts it down. If it is starting and shutting down its likely still related to the heat sensor.

Wont start door shut tight can heat timer drum lite on when door open

If you can hear the motor running with door is closed and the dryer is turned on, the the belt that turns the drum is likely off the drum or broken.

If you cannot hear the anything when the door is closed and the dryer is turned on, then the door switch is likely defective.

The other more unlikely causes are either the Timer or Switch that starts the dryer is defective.

No heat, motion, but light is on and timer ticks

Check the thermal fuse on the blower housing. It is for over heat condition and non resettable.

Kenmore dryer not running

Ticking sound is the timer running--so it is not the problem unless a contact has failed or a wire has come loose.  Broken door switch, thermostat failed in open position, or clogged lint filter/exhaust vent/outlet would keep unit from running.  If you can hear the motor running but the drum is not turning then the drum belt is broken.

Dryer stopped spinning, timer still ticking, cannot get to restart.

Can you still hear the motor turning? If the motor is running but the drum is not then it is probably a broken belt or there may be something blocking the drum from spinning. The first thing to check is if the drum will turn by hand. If so, the next thing to check is if the belt has broken or slipped off. Although it is a bit cumbersome to replace, it is easy to diagnose. Unscrew the screws holding the back of the dryer on and pull the cover off. Look at the pulleys on the motor and see if the belt is intact. If those solutions don't do the trick, let me know and I will try to give you other options.

Can you turn drum by hand? If so you probably need a motor.
