Check EVERY segment of cord from the wall AC outlet to your machine.
Are there any power strips?
Are they turned ON?
Are any power strips overloaded with either too many things plugged into them, or a large power draining appliance?
I am certain you have already checked to make certain that
1) it is plugged in
2) There is not a fuse blown

SOURCE: how to identify a bernina sewing machine

Older machines, the model number is found on the throat of the machine and sometimes stamped on the cover over the motor. You can also give me the serial number stamped on the machine and I can look it up for you. I am a certified Bernina/Brother dealer and technician.
Perhaps look at Ebay, you may get lucky before your eyes become crossed looking at the many many Bernina models out there.

SOURCE: Bernina 910 sewing machine extension table

Hi Phoebe,

What you have is the extension table for the 830 and the 830E Bernina models. What you need is part number 301 276 100. This table looks a little different as it has a small see-through window in the bobbin area and also, it has no clamp (it has push-in pins). Ebay or a site like SewItsForSale is your best bet. I doubt the dealer could get one but if they could, it'd be likely around $100.

SOURCE: Bernina 1090 only sewing backwards

1.Turn the bobbin winder off.
2.You have to reverse the wires on the carbon brushes.

3.Make sure that you have the needle in correctly- with the flat side to the back. Those machines rarely go out of time.

I cant get my stitch Width Zig zag knob to turn om my bernina record 930. Any one have this problem?

Most likely because your machine has not been serviced (oiled & cleaned) in a long time and the old oil has turned to glue and seized. This is probably the most common problem with mechanical sewing machines. A mechanical sewing machine should be regularly maintained..ie every 40 hours of sewing use or at least every six months when not in use. You may want to take it to a Bernina service technician. Ask for a bottle of Bernina oil for CB hook machines and ask if they will show you how to oil it.

How do I remove the back panel of my Bernina 1080 sewing machine?

The back panel on the BERNINA 1080 is not removable. These machines are cast metal, and the main body does not disassemble. The top of the machine will come off, but what it sounds like is that your bobbin winder is engaged, and the clutch in the machine is preventing the machine from turning. Try disengaging the bobbin winder and see if your machine will run. If not, I would reccomend taking your machine to a certified BERNINA technician for repair.
