get the engine on top dead center, take valve caps off turn over engine slowly until intake valve just closes u will be close to top dead center there. then i use a small long screwdriver i put in sparkplug hole and turn engine very slow when piston just startes to go back down i adj valves. intake valve 3 thousands and ex valve 5 thousands

well, I can see ur message has been here for quite some time. Most probably you got the answer to ur request.
I just did the valve clearance on the engine of my SJ413 that has the 1000cc engine of an SJ410 :
When cold: 0.13mm Intake and 0.18mm Exhaust
Engine sounded well and worked fine after that.

There is no valve adjustment for that engine, Hydraulic lifters, You might remove the valve cover and see if you have a rocker arm loose
