SOURCE: 4 ohm and 8 ohm speakers

You can plug in higher ohm speakers , the higher the ohm the higher the resistance is, it is a danger when you plug lower ohm speakers into a higer ohm Amp , at a high volume that will cause them to blow , the center speaker would be fine to use a higer ohm speaker , your best choice is to buy a Active Subwoofer, which means the sub has it's own power supply , and u can blast the thing as much as u like , thn u can turn the bass down on all the other speaker's so u can play it louder , and have the sub turned up has high as u like , this is the best way to get great sound with high volume , buy a Active sub woofer , any active subwoofer is ok , a active sub woofer has its own volume and inputs on the speaker ,

I had better sound from TV alone! Only 2 speakers put out sound from TV. Recordings from DVR can not be heard very well w/all volumes at max. System sucks! You get what you pay for! $2500 LCD TV sounds worse w/Philips HTS than my son's $300 TV! ALL cables hooked up as instucted!!!!

SOURCE: Just bought a Philips home theatre system HTS3544 low sound?

You may also need to change the speaker set up. Go to DISC setting (one of the top selections on the remote) make sure you have no Disc in the DVD player. When in this mode press setup on the remote. On this menu you will have a option to adjust the speaker volume.

I had to increase my speaker volumes to get better sound. This setting is not accessible if you try to do the set up in other than DISC setting. Be sure to check the SURROUND setting. The SURROUND button on the remote will toggle between stereo and surround as stated in a previous post.

Have a Philips 5000 series home theater system and just hooked it up and can not get any sound from the left side speakers front and rear. What should I do or I did not do Thanks.

Most of these home theatre systems come with a speaker set up. Try that. Also look at the speaker settings. It's possible that the speakers you mentioned are switched off, or their output is set to low.

I am having 21 inch onida black 200 tv .I have recently bought philips home theatre. please let me know how to turn off internal speakers of onida tv and how to turn on external speakers to send audio...

By the looks of it, the only output you can use from the tv will be using the 2.5mm jack plug headphone socket, get a cable to convert this into twin phone (red/white) for stereo sound to your amplifier. (they are very cheap £2 or so) The Home theatre system should be able to give you a psuedo surround but you wont get full surround.

I have got Philips Home Theatre 5.1 (DSP 25000) , but it is not giving expected sound. Right Rear speaker and Left Fornt Speaker are not giving any sound . Please let me know the solution. I have connected...

Firstly make sure you have connected the speakers to the main system in an proper order. Certain system's have the name of the speaker's mentioned at every output line which is at the rear of the system. If you would connect the wrong wires then it eventually would not play the sound. once this is done make sure that the wires of each speakers are split into two at both the ends. They are normally coded in red and black colours at the tip of the wire. Check if the red of the wire is connected to the red of the system and so on for all the speakers. So try removing all your connections and do it all over in a proper way.

Please help with getting 5.1 sound from my TV!

You must run a Digital Optical cable from your PS3 to your reciever. Then press your function button on your recievers remote until you see SAT/CABLE on your recievers display. Next go to your PS3 settings and go to Sound settings, then Audio Output settings, and select Digital out (OPTICAL) then your done. This is the only way to get true digital sound from your PS3 to your reciever.

The center speaker shouldn't be on the surround outputs it should be on the Center output. The surround outputs are for the rear speakers.
