Either the battery is flat or something is stuck on the cassette case preventing the case sliding out with the mechanism.

SOURCE: "reinsert the cassettee" error in Sony HandyCam CCD-TRV 438E.

The camcorder most likely is not detecting the tape, you have a bad sensor and these sensors all come on a flex type board and the flex board is mounted on the chassis surface. This will mean that the entire mechanism will meed to be diassembled, and is a very big and costly job. My opinion is that this repair will run you abut 250 to 300 bucks and this camcorder is not worth this as new camcorders are under 200 bucks. Good Luck

Sony camcorders C:31:23 error
Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.
good luck

SOURCE: zr400 wont accept cassette

You wont belive this but I found on another site something that actually works. Apparently it's called the "fonzie tap". With the camcorder closed tap the side (quite hard) and try putting the tape in again. Repeat this until it works.

I was all out of solutions so I tried this option last and it actually worked lol.!!!

Sony CCD-V200E Wont Eject

It is possible that the processor could be locked up and if you remove are power from camcorder for 30Min, no battery and no ac adapter either, and it should reset back to normal and let you eject tape.

HELP, I have borrowed an older camcorder from a friend. A sony Hi8 CCD-TR101 handycam. My child put the tape in backwards and now it wont eject. What should I do??

Tape can not be inserted backward in.It is impossible to to insert cassette inside video wrong way.
If it is not ejecting its eject switch might have got broken by physically pulling its cassette compartment outward before closing last time.
Its mini switch is very fragile in all sony models. so only way is to take to technician to bring it out.If i were you,I would buy used one from ebay at lower price than repairing.

Hi8 won't eject cassette

There is a broken plastic part inside the cassette and needs to be replaced. Mostly due to cassette tape improper position and camera jam (tape jam).

Sony Handycam CCD-TR64 cassette door won't close

Common problem with this mechanism. In order to fix the problem you will have to replace part called CHASSIS LS. Expensive repair, probably not worth the effort.

I get an eject symbol and beep and error code c32:11, original issue was that it ate a tape

Hi,
The error C 32:11 denotes for mechanical unsuitability, This problem appears when the improper insertion of the cassette been done, or lose cassette tape stuck,
In all these situations mechanical adjustment is required, You are suggested to please contact any expert for the mechanical adjustment.
Hope you will understand my sayings.
