why use this feature all, CIA does but who else. IDK
its very risky to use. and makes service way harder.
and more expensive.. why use it? (USA.GOV contract work?)
if yes why would you ask on fixya that. ask HP. always and directly.

go to control panel / mouse to open the mouse properties window. along the top of the window should be several tabs. select the tab for touchpad or maybe advanced properties. this tab allows you to adjust the touch sensitivity of the mousepad, momentum, and other properties. adjusting to make it less sensitive may reduce the tendency of the cursor to jump or move on its own. failing that, go for an external mouse!

have you tryd going into your control panel and click on you mouse icon and try turning off from there.

On the mouse pad there is a dot in the upper left. Tap it twice with your finger.

1. Test HP EliteBook 6930p charger with a digital multimeter. It's possible that you have a failed AC adapter. If you don't have a multimeter, test your laptop with another known good AC adapter.

2.It's possible that power jack (socket where you plug the AC adapter) is broken. Remove the motherboard and take a closer look at the power jack. In some cases you can fix the jack by resoldering it on the motherboard. In other cases you have to replace the jack with a new one. Using a multimeter, test if the power goes to the motherboard through the jack.

The same thing has been happening to my tablet lately, as well. However, on mine, that corner of the computer is slightly damaged (from shoving it into my backpack too roughly, i guess). Is your hp damaged? Otherwise, it's probably a hardware problem.

are you switching off, or just closing the lid? On most laptops, closing the lid just hibernates and constantly uses power, it can be changed in the control panel power options.
